also speak to ranger yogi on here, im sure he can back me up with the fact that alot of the ranger's ditched their gaiters after landing. so i dont see why no other unit would. :)

I can see that the photo is captioned as being a soldier of the 29th Infantry Division. Perhaps he was an ex-member of the 29th Rangers? They were issued jump boots, as can be seen in these photos.
