It's either a Vickers ammo can carrier or for two large insulted food carriers.
I think the latter and its definitely British.

It is a backpack of sorts it has padding where it would sit In the small of your back.
Yes, quite, its a backpack for carrying large thermos flasks full of food or tea/soup.
There is a single version as well as your double.
I have the single version, it has the roll too.

That's a huge help thank you very much
Just not sure what I am going to do with it now lol
I just have 1 more question are these things rare because I can't seem to find any info about them anywhere

Get a huge thermos and deliver hot tea in the field, of course. Believe me, we would really like that.
are these things rare
Like small packs and e-tool covers, they didn't used to be.
No-one wanted them so they were cheap.
Now they have been cut up for parts or binned and they are scarce. I dont think they will ever be worth a huge amount as they are of limited use.
They are not a part of the '37 pattern system.

Not a complete waste of £20 then

A very similar setup was used at the Sevastopol game in February, although iirc the tins were stacked rather than side-by-side. Full of vegetable stew.
As it didn't get above freezing all day then we got buried in a snowstorm in the evening it was very welcome indeed!
I think the Germans were left chewing frozen bratwurst though.
