SoF have now got some brown postwar US issue blankets in. At £60 each! I think I'll be sticking with my £7 surplus ones...

he he

eventually I would like an 'accurate blanket' - which has to be a definition of some kind of insanity. but I will not be paying £60 for one. unless it is made of truffles, gold and cocaine!

erm... they're hospital blankets or some such... there's a medical symbol on them.

Post war ones tend to be dark green.

So an interesting find for them, but if you want them proper brown WWII blankets are about.

I'm trying to dig out the link to the grey blanket I have. Cost £20. On a side note, repro packs have the holes for the entrenching tool and bayonet in the wrong place. word of warning.

I was looking at those for my German gear. Are they plain grey? Most I've seen have a coloured border.

Stand by. They have a faint blue/grey line around the sides. Mostly grey though.

I can live with that. The other ones I saw had red borders. It does say various shades so hopefully it will turn out like yours.

They sell them 'unedged' which are just plain grey, though we got the ones with the red edging on them.

To be honest once you fold it you cant really see them. Grey blankets are bloody hard to get, I'd get one.

The SOF ones are post war though, get a brown or grey one! Cheaper and they look better!

Guys please for the love of god don't use SOF's catalogue as a bible! They'll say whatever to sell stuff.
