If you cant afford the US marine HBT's mabe try this cheaper option they look very similar.
We don't do many WW2 pacific games is the problem mate...
I would use them, there are a few pics of them about in Normandy if you look hard enough
Steve.D
Errr...no they weren't
Some units of the 2nd Armored and 30th ID used M1942 Camouflage HBTs, it's a different pattern of uniform.
You can tell by the buttons. Those on the Army ones are hidden, those on the USMC uniforms are not.
The camouflage print is the same pattern tough.
In Normandy they were only in use for about a month to 6 weeks. They were issued as a test just
before the start of Operation Cobra (the men hadn't had fresh uniforms since they arrived in Normandy)
and the camouflage uniforms disappear at the end of August when the men received their next set of
fresh clothes.
The perpetuated myth is that they were discarded because they drew friendly fire. While in fact there are
no more reported cases of friendly fire recorded then when they did not use the uniform. There are no officially
known fatal cases of FF with these uniforms.
A man from the 41st AIR/2nd AD did end up in a POW hospital in England. They thought he was a
wounded German Soldier because of the camouflage.

The Aus Cam is quite different to the Marine camoflage, infact the only thing that is similar is the blobbyness of it, the main palette of colours is different. At a distance the Auscam looks like dark tan, whereas the Marine P42 camo is green, or very tan looking (depending on what side you put on) Chap on ebay in HK does P41 and P42 Marine HBTs, for not a lot of money either. Got my set within a week, he also does the helmet covers

full set for £51
For the sake of a bit extra than the AUS cam you can have a full set of proper marine stuff
Like Fibble said, the marines HBT pattern differes from the infantry, the infantry 1s had normal round buttons, whereas the marine's were press-studded
You could also have a Marine Corp belt, Brown with a circular metal buckle.
Very cool looking piece and not bad for a tenner...yes I'm still trying to sell this bloody belt.
