Trying to make a very late war impression so some things may seem strange, like the splitter helmet cover, but those where hard times and one have to got hand on what is avaiable :whistle:

Best regards

UPDATE 2009.07.29

Coming on nicely there. :) The splittertarn helmet cover is the only thing I'm not sure about! The one thing the Waffen SS were not short of (compared to the Heer) was camouflage, so I would go for any SS camo pattern cover - but not peadot, because they did not exist.

I've seen pictures of Waffen SS troops with splinter helmet covers, so, it's not unknown,

When I want your opinion - I'll tell you what it is!

Looking pretty good Albano, just a couple of extra observations; the glasses, if you're just posing for pics and don't need safety goggles one picture look much better without modern glasses on. The other is the T-shirt- people always under estimate the value of a proper looking shirt. It can turn a good impression into a great one. Doesn't necessarily have to be 100% correct if you're on a budget but a look-a-like shirt is much better than T-shirt.

Thanks guys for all feedback and sugestions. As i said, it's not finished yet and is far from being as i dreamed off.

@Angel
About the belt, yes it's incorrect i know. Because the idea is to make an oberscharfuhrer so i bought already the belt :twisted:

@ Julius H
Mate, i'm from Portugal and because of our bitter fascism past, runes, swastikas or facchios are not much appreciated around here. Never the less i don't give a damn for that BS 'cause what is of the past is past and this is just for fun :happyswing:
Lack of insignia its just because my skills with line and needle are 0 so i'm waiting to buy waffenrock to send it all to a dress maker to sew on :rofl:

@ Lardassmonkey
Didn't thought on that :slap:

Best regards u all

Oh and put some food, small equipment in your breadbag - it looks better :D

What modern boots are you wearing? I guess they are padded? It makes the gaitors sit funny.

Never too late to learn, mate! I felt so guilty asking my wife to constantly sew / move insignia, I taught myself. And I'm older than you! :wink:

Lol, I'm a right craft person now after this hobby has taken over... Xmas pressie to everyone's surprise was my own sewing machine, lol! (it's been used a hell of a lot already)

Add to that leatherworking, etc... I love it!

To be honest I do have a slight advantage, my mum taught sewing at school and taught me how to do it at an early age. Though that's 30 years ago!

So, give it a go, it's not that difficult you know!

Thanks for all the votes of confidence on me to learn how to sew :good: . I'll give it a try one of this days 8)

Please excuse the intrusion, but I thought I may aswell keep all the 7th SS stuff together :)

Probably not 100% historically accurate, but I'm happy with it for the moment. Belt kit is on the light side, just how I roll with a rifle and a pistol! ;)

Again, apologies for the intrustion. If you wish me to remove my photos from your thread I will happily do so.

My armoury;
Tanaka Kar98(1942 woodwork and parts), M1 Garand AEG(1940's woodwork and metalwork), MG34, SVT40, Mosin Nagant M44, MP40, PPSH41, Luger and PPK.
