Andreas there is no problem wearing the martching boots you have, as long as they are comfortable. This isn't a fashion parade or stich-counting.

Ur Bunde Para boots are padded, that's why it caused issue. You could buy a cheap pair of British BCH and wear gaitors without problem.

That's what I do for WW2 Airsoft. I own a nice pair of knobelbecher but mostly keep them for re-enactment. I'm going to buy a pair of repro low boots, but can't justify the expence at this time.
