Heya
once again big uk is being obnoxious.
Personally I think we should say that any medal ribbons should be pre 1900
I'd also personally be very happy with barring all medals on kit at games that are for exceptional bravery (knights cross, VC , MoH etc)
IF ONLY TO PISS THAT COCK OFF!
I can personally see the medal thing getting silly and unwieldy soon anyway...

Was it big uk being obnoxious? I seem to notice him saying he was going to change it?
Did you read the whole thread? I already made comments on this...
Yeah it was the whole, 'whats the problem, ' 'good enough for my dad' its ok with me rubbish.
"I think we are in rats' alley - Where the dead men lost their bones."
I'm not really incredibly fussed actually. As most that are ex-services (including Nige) say, they are not bothered themselves - the issue is really over PC'ness - the fear of upsetting others.
So, I wouldn't make an issue over it - it ain't worth the hassle over some forum gifs. The message HAS now been made.
As for banning ironwork in-game - just another argument in the making for no real benefit. In case you hadn't noticed, the new bling is no bling - jerry is generally de-badging. Whether this is because chaps are fed up of losing stuff in a game is a moot point!
And Evo's last considered post should be the final word on the 'debate'.
Yep, im hoping so too.
Although as Nige says also.. we were both singularly unimpressed with the 'airborne general' with the 'vc' telling us staffords we were attacking pegasus bridge... in one way a harmless old duffer but the vc was a tad off.

Never sure on this one , I bling German kit because it's all in the past, you can't win a Knights Cross anymore ....anyway we are the baddies.
Big UK = BIG NOBBER BIG NOBBER BIG NOBBER BIG NOBBER BIG NOBBER BIG NOBBER BIG NOBBER BIG NOBBER BIG NOBBER BIG NOBBER BIG NOBBER BIG NOBBER BIG NOBBER BIG NOBBER BIG NOBBER BIG NOBBER BIG NOBBER BIG NOBBER BIG NOBBER BIG NOBBER BIG NOBBER BIG NOBBER BIG NOBBER BIG NOBBER BIG NOBBER BIG NOBBER BIG NOBBER BIG NOBBER BIG NOBBER BIG NOBBER BIG NOBBER BIG NOBBER BIG NOBBER BIG NOBBER BIG NOBBER BIG NOBBER BIG NOBBER BIG NOBBER BIG NOBBER BIG NOBBER BIG NOBBER BIG NOBBER BIG NOBBER BIG NOBBER BIG NOBBER BIG NOBBER BIG NOBBER BIG NOBBER BIG NOBBER BIG NOBBER BIG NOBBER BIG NOBBER BIG NOBBER BIG NOBBER BIG NOBBER BIG NOBBER BIG NOBBER BIG NOBBER BIG NOBBER BIG NOBBER BIG NOBBER BIG NOBBER BIG NOBBER BIG NOBBER BIG NOBBER BIG NOBBER BIG NOBBER BIG NOBBER BIG NOBBER BIG NOBBER BIG NOBBER BIG NOBBER BIG NOBBER BIG NOBBER BIG NOBBER BIG NOBBER BIG NOBBER BIG NOBBER BIG NOBBER BIG NOBBER BIG NOBBER BIG NOBBER BIG NOBBER BIG NOBBER BIG NOBBER BIG NOBBER BIG NOBBER BIG NOBBER BIG NOBBER BIG NOBBER BIG NOBBER BIG NOBBER BIG NOBBER BIG NOBBER BIG NOBBER BIG NOBBER BIG NOBBER
'bout sums it up really .
Like my new 'walt' medal evo made for us?
I also propose...
the 'grand order of surrender' - a white bar with yellow streak for particulalry cowardly actions
and the vomitus cross - bright green with yellow blob for any body getting utterly shitfaced at social and so unable to play the next day...
"I think we are in rats' alley - Where the dead men lost their bones."
I think we should all adopt the walt one to inject a much needed element of humour into all this...
"I think we are in rats' alley - Where the dead men lost their bones."
Can you do a period Teflon Medal for those who never get hit ? Perhaps a Bar for the amount of complaining associated with this ....
Or perhaps Order of the Two Parachutes , for the larger Airborne Trooper amongst us ?
Hehe, Evo is going to busy!
okay had enough, I made one myself with an 1853 medal and deleted/locked as appropriate
Quote BIGUK:
""Joss wrote:
why does everyone wanna be a paratrooper???"
Thats a bit left field, for the subject....Personal choice mate. Im a paratrooper and proud of it."
Closest he's been to airborne is the top of the stairs...

Okay... I just had this pm from biguk
Yith I cant believe you would undermine me like that! This is another reason why i no longer attend CiA games. You Realise you've lost 15 US Airborne guys over this kinda of crap!
I'd like to make it public... Gadge, Evo, Webby and Wladek agree.. What is the opinion from the rest of you?
Full discussion so far:

Sorry. I'd said the rules... You'd whinged. I'd sorted it. At the end of the day I have the full support of the moderators on here. You're dithering and messing things up, hadn't.
From the lies that I'd read posted on the gunman forums I think you owe me an apology not the other way around.
If this is the way you're going to behave then I'm not at all disappointed that you can't (or won't) attend St Lo. But if you want to come then I will welcome you with open arms.
Apology for what exactly?
Here you go... several mistruths said on this thread.
http://www.dog-company-506th.co.uk/phpB ... 3&start=40I know it's not you, but it's your guys....
As I said. The olive branch is there if you want to take it. We really had hoped that some of the 101st lads wouldn't mind badging up as 82nd and popping along to St Lo to see a different type of game. We all feel it's a crying shame that you've not taken us up on it. It was always been open.
Until we are treated with the respect we deserve we wont be attending any CiA or PBI games in the near future.
We all feel how we have been received as an 101st only group, is appauling.
I'm very sorry to hear that. But it is not news to me. I'd heard it before as a rumour and hoped that it was not true as it is rather sad and pathetic.
The fact is that I don't want to limit the games I play to ones that involve the 101st at every opportunity. There was a lot more to WWII than easy company, you can see that from the range of impressions myself and others now have.
I honestly think it is your loss to limit yourselves in this manner. There is so much more fun to be had with the full variety of WWII.
Maybe you will realise this in time. If so remember our door is always open to all your members.
I've come across a bit patronising, but meh...
Hi Chommers,
I've officially had enough. The way i and other Dog Company members are treated is appauling.
Now i've just been undermined publicly on the forum, by Yith sticking his Admin nose into something thats none of his business.
Taffy John, asked me personally at the weekend to create, him a Signiture ribbon. As thanks for a great weekend i accepted.
There has been some light discussion over my choice of award. ( didnt realise there was rules, to which medals i could base them on)
Now because i refuse to change the ribbon for the third time within working hours. Im basically called a lazy twat, by Yith.
I work bloody hard, as the Web Development Manager for O2. So im sure you can understand i cant take timeout for things like this all time. Especially on a Friday, when im signing off the designs for the following week.
I've heard through Spiers that you were wondering why you've seen a slump in US up take on your games. This is because Dog Company (15 Players) no longer wishes to attend the CiA games. After how we've been treated by certain members of the CiA Forum.
I continued to come here in the hope that it would get better. by occasionally posting, and using the For Sale section. I will complete my sale with Pete59. over the next week. and take a break from here.
Its a shame that its come to this...
I wasn't wondering at all. I'm well aware that Dog Company have been boycotting CiA games and I'm sorry but I'm not getting involved in any of this childish behaviour.
You seem to confuse CiA games with the Comrades in Arms forum though. This is a forum for the benefit of the whole WW2 community - if Dog Company choose to hide themselves away with their own forum and play only at Gunman games then that is your choice, I wouldn't dream of trying to persuade you otherwise. Please remember that forum moderators have their own personal opinions and they have just as much right to voice them as you have.
I asked Taffy to ask you if you would design a medal ribbon as I thought you would like to be involved. It is but a couple of minutes work and the reasons for ribbon choice have been discussed before - check out Webby's posts on this - as well as when you posted your first effort. There are no 'rules' but you could have listened to common sense advice and made it easy for yourself!
Anyhoo, I welcome any contribution you or any member of Dog Company make to the forum, both in the past and hopefully the future, remember forums are the absolute pits for fallings-out - not matter whether its an Airfix model forum or Classic Car forum. That's the nature of the beast I'm afraid. Dunno why, brings out the worst in people I suppose!
David
nice one dave... I think we're hitting the same chord more or less.
Sorry about my lenghty post but i'd appreciate it if we coudl let it run Dave, i feel this needs airing , its been brewing too long.
"I think we are in rats' alley - Where the dead men lost their bones."
Poor Spiers, got this PM today as he tries to distance himself from DC. Sent him a nice PM, feel sorry for the lad really.
Hi CW,
I just wanted to clarify a couple of things because I know there's a hell of a lot of bad words floating around between CiA & Dog Company and now Gadge has posted on the Dog Company forum which probably won't help matters but hey! Not what I've PM'd you about...
I'm writing this because of the way you felt you had to approach the Dog Co. camp at Gulch, and I just wanted to clarify my position as per CiA & Dog Company, I'd like to say that every experience as a member on the CiA forum has been good but there has been the odd occasion when comments have been made about me which I thought were uncalled for, you may remember one made by Guy which you actually defended me against soon after Autumn Mist I think it was...among others and nevertheless I still support Comrades in Arms as an organisation and will still be attending as many games as I can make. I have always thoroughly enjoyed them and when viable will always attend.
As for being part of Dog Company, I am part of the group because they are all my friends and I was invited to join, I enjoy their company and they're a good bunch who fight hard and fight fair. I hold no bad feelings towards CiA and although on odd occasion I do get bloody irritated with another forum user I do not hold that against the organisers. You're doing a great service to Airsoft never mind WW2 airsoft and I'm glad to be a member.Alex
P.S Apologies for the bungling of the medic-ing rules at Gulch that was my stuff up, glad you came mate, hope to see you at an event soon.
