I've downloaded all the info that was on the WWII bit of the old Wiki, some good info and saves us re typing it all . Perhaps we could convert the gun info into a review secton on our forum ?
Overview
A smaller branch of the wider sport, linked as much to re enactment and role playing than to a regular days skirmish. Players typically invest a large amount of time and money to ensure authenticity of kit and weapons. Generally played at a slower pace, given that most WWII weapons were single shot or semi automatic, and typically this is represented in game rules by restrictions on ROF. Other restrictions can involve restrictive use of radios, and banning the use of modern kit such as red dot sights, RIS rails, assault vests and other similar post war items.
The main restriction to it being a more popular game, seems the lack of suitable "off the shelf" period weaponry, other than Tokyo Marui

BTW, this is the same wiki software that wikipedia uses. Its also the same as the company I work for uses for their intranet.

Might be a good idea to go through some of the historic threads that we re-started on ASCUK when UKAN went down.
My thoughts are that we could give Digga access so he can start to strip out the info and put it into the Wiki. The ASCUK forum was his idea and resource from before UKAN went down so he might like to be involved.

The value of a Wiki is that anyone can update it, it is a fluid and up-to-date resource. Not being knowledgable about Wiki, can anyone change stuff on it and if so how secure is it?
Yes you can change it...
You need to have people that keep an eye on it.
All changes can be reversed.
You can "protect" sensitive areas.
