Sod phpBB authors! Not the done thing at all - if someone does something for you for free the least you can do is abide by the licence!
As I say, let's see what happens. Don't think adding dodgy html will work as tags will be ignored anyway, besides it's in the address of everysingle page of the forum.
I'll alter the header in line with your mods - as you see the layout is completly differnet now so I'll have a tweak.
Take it from me the addition of the html tags will make a difference. When the robot comes to check the page it'll probably do a simple scan to check for the exact text that it expects. It doesn't read the page as you or I would do, it will read it at the low level and include the extra html tags. Hence if we do this then it won't find the copyright notice. In order to find the text in a case where the extra html has been added would require it to strip the html tags from all the pages it scans and it won't want to do that as it's very inefficient when you consider the huge number of pages it'll want to scan.
As for the url's there is nothing to say that a forum will be installed under a path that includes phpBB in it. In fact its highly unlikely that it would. I actually chose the path we use myself when I installed the software. Hence most likely any robot would totally ignore that detail.

Note, headgear should be worn at all times when outside...
I think the colour of the plastic british helmets produced for the world cup are fine... it was the german ones that were bright orange!
