That's all a bit high tech for you Oldun aint it!

Could maybe use that stuff on the space shuttle to save weight Aerogel is 99.38 percent air not the brick

There was a guy about 20 -30 years ago that invented a paint that performed better than the heavy tiles on the space shuttle but no one would pay him enough money for the secret so I think it died with him.
I think it was demonstrated on Tomorrows World if I remember the guy was a chemist or even a hairdresser that stumbled on this invention.

EDIT
I was right

In my opinion any PC that knew the difference between whether you could fire a nerf with or without flights on it would just be taking the piss.

Re-enactment and airsoft are different in that re-enactment is often in front of Joe public but airsoft is not and takes place away from prying eyes. So the fact you have polystyrene flights on your sponge rocket or not is a small point.
I can just see the prosecution lawyer now.
Exhibit A (a sponge rocket with illegal sponge flights)VCR illegal.
Exhibit B (a sponge rocket without sponge flights) VCR legal.

After the jury has stopped laughing  what do you think would be the verdict?

Sorry I can not see the item on Arnies as I never got a member ship and you can't see what they are discussing unless you are a member, keeps the prying eyes away a bit.

Well, for a start, it has nothing to do with the VCR, its Firearms Act 1968...

When we were a Kingdom it was run by a King
When we were an Empire it was run by an Empress
Now we're a country we're run by a..........

It don’t matter one bit same result!

Most stuff to do with airsoft laws would be laughed out of court if it got that far.

For instance
Exhibit A (full steel AK47 de-ac) UK legal.
Exhibit B (plastic airsoft AK47 that can make a clic clak noise) looks the same but is lighter ilegal.

The fact that the airsoft can fire plastic BB's has nothing to do with the law as long as it wasn't discharged in public.

It would get thrown out of a court of law as a waste of time and the PC would have his arse kicked somewhere into the orbit of Venus for wasting tax payers money.

One thing is for sure they may be building extra UK prisons for all these new arrivals to the UK but they will not be building them for people with airsoft guns.

It's just one of the 60000000000000000000 laws created to scare people and allow the police to lock you up if you are being a pain in the arse to other members of the public. Don't annoy anyone and you should be ok.

Aren’t moscarts also in a grey area as they are an air cartridge system which is illegal now think Brockock?

well I now have ordered a 2" mortar and dummy bombs from Relics....this will take about 6weeks apparently to arrive. I shall use this as a basis for my non finned concept....this will possibly involve parcel packing paper and loo rolls filled with dried beans/peas muahahahaha (see where I'm going with that?)so concept is:
1 drainage tube suitably enhanced to resemble a mortar
1 or more moscarts charged with air
cardboard tubes (bog roll inners)filled with dried peas, ends secured by parcel paper OR maybe balloons? (we can experiment with the projectiles perhaps bog roll tube won't break up properly for example)(I don't want anyone hurt after all)

Job to do would be charged projector inserted into barrel, bomblet then inserted, projector discharged, bomblet wooshes out, 50yards away several jerries go 'ooh you bugger' as the bog roll tubs hits the ground breaking and sending its cargo of marrowfat peas in all directions.....no explosives involved!

Good luck but I don't think the bog role will burst on impact with the ground. Test it just throw them in the air as high as you can or drop them from a tall building rather than waste any gas.

This is the reason I favour the whistling nerf vortex with fins, because of the audible effect the enemy will have a better appreciation of what has just hit them, landed by them or just passed over their head.

They are also an ideal thing to take out a tank as long as I can here the thump when it hits or am informed of such by an observer.
For anti tank use only a small amount of gel paint etc could be on the nerf tip as proof of impact. 8)

That's given me an interesting idea as regards taking out a tank... perhaps if an enemy can "thump" or slap the tank with their hand then it is counted as taken out? Could be equivalent to applying a sticky bomb, etc?

It will mean that they will definitely need infantry support!

Yes Yith that was my original idea I may still fit an alarm button on each side that will make it definite.

But I know many of them want a weapon system to do it as well, my thoughts are they have to capture the weapon first, can't make it too easy can we.

My big problem at the moment is changing the trailer hitch system due to it being over 750kg total I think it is now just on 850kg with the track kit.
So now I need it to be braked I have the hitch just got to remake part of the trailer again.

Anyway enough about that. :?

Ridey bog rolls methinks are not going to happen-main reason is that they are a VERY tight fit in the drain tube-in fact their diam is more like 54mm -inner pipe is 53mm remember. So maybe little parcels of beans/peas in maybe clingfilm will end up being the way ahead-only problem is they must burst on contact and not incapacitate anyone either!!!! (I know I for one would not want to be on the end of what is essentially a bean bag that has been thrown out at 340psi plus force of gravity.....)

Hi, can you just clarifiy your understanding of moscarts and launchers and elastic pyro lobbers. Is it legal to make a moscart launcher that looks like a panzershrek or PIAT so long as it can't fire anything else?

Is it legal to lob pyros at skirmish sites using elastic or spring power via a tube shaped launcher?

Does a water rocket (plastic bottle with fins using compressed air and water) fall foul of the law if it is or is not delivering a non impact fused pyro?

Help bacause I was hoping to do the moscart PIAT/ panzerschrek thing and possibly the tube launcher!

VERY instresting read
leads me to ask, is archery leagle in the UK? fin stabilized and all

"only problem is they must burst on contact and not incapacitate anyone either"
yep thats the issue, you really cant garrentee it will.. and if it has enuf engery to give you any kind of spread on impacting something hard...it will take out a player for sure. as a compmerize try balloons with a a 50/50 mix water and BBs
self discarding sabots are a good solution

they can be used with bb (popcorn/peas) fill or water balloons.
another option (sorry i don't have any picts)I have been working with is s "shot cups" that allow you to just drop bb rounds down the barrel. The effect is like a shot gun wad, giving you a 1/2 to 2/3 tighter pattern. advrage load has been in the 1400s with popcorn seeds, probably need to back it off to 800 or so to get the weight down (210 grams right now) and the fps up
