I think Action Hobbies are the main importer then send them to Airsoft Scotland etc.

Free speech is expensive these days!

Nah, AW get them direct from the east. Not sure on LWA.

Stock looks great. Hope yer right and it's an abberation, it'd be real dissapointing if they are all a bit of 'fixer-up-er' guns even new!

I wonder if some off-the-shelf spring-locking body pin from some other AEG will do the job?

This place will sell you repro body bits...I bought a forward hand guard from them suggest you might get locking pins form them too ?

Better stocks can be got from the states , have a look through the earlier MP44 thread stickied in this forum for the links .
Tsch MP44's .....so common ...I had one at the first ever CiA event
now show me an Mp28 and I'll be impressed !
I can see 2009 being an expensive year for me, I just hope the ACM mg42 does not come out or I wil lhave even less money

I think we both know a person who's making one.... or was it an MP34? Whatever... ![]()

You've got nothing to ein, zwei, drei, vier
Oh do you mean a pair of these. And i'm not going to take wire wool wet & dry or any other substance to them. You treat your gun like your treat you women and i'm not taking wire wool to my wife! ![]()
I'm beginning to regret ordering one of these before I've even received it now
If there are issues like those described, I will be less than happy. Buying something I have to fix is definitely a good way to piss me off, unless it's used and described as needing work. I don't need to be voiding my warranty by modifying pins and opening up a new AEG to replace a hop unit. Hearing that they're firing well over 400fps is not good either, unless the sellers are going to replace the springs, because cutting them is amateursville
The site we've ordered from has stated they are 350fps. Not "roughly" or "could be", but definitely 350fps. If they aren't, and they've been opened up and springs cut and messed about with, mine will be going back. They've also told every man and his dog how it was their investment in them that has led to them being made. This being so, and them being a UK company, how come the damned things are coming in with overrated springs?
I've reviewed more AEG's than I care to think about for the Mag, and it would be fair to say that not many are close to their advertised velocities (CA & TM seem to be the two that are pretty good on that front)
Regarding replacing items on a brand new AEG, it's something I do all the time - particularly barrels, Hop-up units and rubbers - and in the case of Chinese AEG's, putting a decent spring in there as well. The QC on a lot of the Chinese stuff could do with some work, that's for sure. My attitude is that if the QC is questionable, then you're better off dealing with any problems as soon as you get your hands on a new shooter than waiting for it to all go tits up.
WRT body pins, try TM G3 & MP5 stock and handguard pins. They have a small spring in them to hold 'em in place - O-rings suck for that job.

A very good review here:

looks to be a totally standard V2 gerabox and hop unit so any problems can be easily sorted!
“I wanted to come to the Volga at a specific location at a specific city. By chance it carries the name of Stalin himself. So don’t think I marched there for this reason – it could carry another name – but because there is a very important goal... this goal I wanted to take – and you know – we are very modest, we have it already."

It is on your perseverance, staunchness, fighting skill and readiness to discharge your duty to the country that the defeat of the German-fascist army and the liberation of the Soviet land from the Hitlerite invaders depend! We can and must clear the Soviet land of Hitlerite vermin."

Indeed, but these are claimed to be 350fps and are turning out to be 420-450fps, according to Land Warrior. At that MV, without voiding your warranty by opening it up, it's a £200 paperweight. They claimed to be the financial driving force behind these, yet they're coming into the country with muzzle velocities that the US airsofters would be proud of, then being butchered to comply?

I'm quite capable of doing it, but I don't see why I should have to with a brand new AEG. My used ICS MP5 had quite a few things done to it, but none were due to faults, and I had to replace the whole hop unit on PDs. I had to open up the gearbox on my M4 to sort a slipped anti-reversal latch spring. Both my D-Boys M4 and my BE HK33 needed new hop rubbers, but replacing them does not involve voiding warranties by opening up a gear box. My argument is that, if these things are advertised as having a MV of 350fps, they should come like that. If that means the shop replace the spring completely, I have no problem with it. If, however, it means they're just going to cut the spring already in it, I'm not impressed.

The real MP44s have the sprung pins too, so why are they not on these? More expense to buy HK type stock pins.
Just realised I completely arsed up my first post (it's late, long day, and too much caffeine LOL)
It should have been:
"it would be fair to say that not many sit at their advertised velocities (CA & TM seem to be the two that are pretty good on that front)"
You really have to look at Airsoft guns as two distinct groups - higher cost, higher QC - TM is a perfect example of that, and lower cost, lower QC - the Chinese manufactured AEG's being the example there. I would expect any AEG I purchased to work out the box, but to get the best out of the budget ones, you sometimes have to invest a little time and effort in replacing the odd part here and there.
If we were talking about cars, I wouldn't buy a Fiat and expect the same performance and longevity you get from a Bentley, and the same applies to Airsoft guns - however i'd still expect it to work!

Completely agree!
If its advertised as 350FPS, yet comes up at 420FPS then it sits fair and square under the Trade Descriptions Act 1968 as it is a misleading statement. If it isn't as advertised then they have to rectify the problem, and under The Sale and Supply of Goods to Consumers Regulations 2002 all costs must be met by them (right down to postage/shipping of the item to and from them). I for one, would insist on having a full spring in there - not a chopped one!

Yes, you'd still want the gear stick, breaks and accelerator to work, without having to open it up and replace anything ![]()

Go on ..tell me these are wehat they appear as .....de acs and not airsoft projects...
re velocity declarations ...er ...I always like my star SA80 for coming out of the box at 420fps...
Here it is disassembled for any one that's interested
I'm assuming that you can just undo the stock pin and the other pin at the front of the lower receiver to remove it and get to the hop and inner barrel?
Excellent photos Chaos - very interesting (can't wait for mine now!)
Do you have a magnet handy? Could you say if any of it is steel or just all aluminium? (I'm thinking of which blueing solution to go for
)
