Right, the AFRA thing, from an Airsoft POV

First off, you have to be a member of CiA (i.e. having attended games) Forum membership proves nothing, active involvement in a CiA event shows that you are dedicated to the scene - with an appropriate level of kit to show that you aren't just doing this as a way of avoiding the "other" ways of getting your hands on RIF's. Think of it as a clearing house. AFRA need to be assured that those joining from the Airsoft side of things are not taking the piss. CiA is that clearing house. Of course, there are other stipulations as well.

Please read the following thread:

If you want to get into WWII airsoft then the equipment and uniforms you need can be bought from a number of places in the UK, the US and the Far East (as well as private purchases on this site and on Ebay) - have a look at the forum posts called "Where can I buy XXXX kit from?" as this will answer most of your questions.

If you simply want to buy RIFs legally (and if you are over 18) then there are easier ways to do this than by joining AFRA.

AFRA is an excellent group, but it takes time, money and a high level of commitment to reach a required standard. Have a look at any number of re enactment groups, as an example. By all means come on board and see if this is for you, but as was very well stated in the last post, joining a site is a much simpler way of aquiring the required defence.

As a collector you don't have any legal route to buying WW2 airsoft guns I'm afraid. This is only open to airsofters and reenactors who have specific defences or exemptions to the law that stops anyone buying anything that looks like a real gun but isn't a real gun. (Real guns being covered by other laws of course.)

As for any other stuff for sale here on the forum, well just post a reply on the sale thread or sent a PM to the seller, either are fine but posting on the forum is preferable so it's clear to everyone the interest.

As a collector I suggest you collect deactivated weapons rather than airsoft guns.

You can buy deacs, you can't buy airsoft guns.
