Posting from Arnies on the MG42  :

...."just got canceled maybe...AGM Boss was arrested many days ago and have not been released i doubt he will get anything out before the 60th anniversary, hope he can get out safely without repercussions."

Just been told things might re-open on the 5th. Business might be a bit slow to start with but will no doubt soon get back to normal. Apparently they had the same probles around the time of the Olympics. Lets hope the 42 turns out to be more than another fantastic rumour.

The PPSH 41 has been quoted as being their next project. Now that they would sell a shed load of as both sides will want them.

Personally, I think that commercially they would be a much better bet than the MG42 TBH.

“I wanted to come to the Volga at a specific location at a specific city. By chance it carries the name of Stalin himself. So don’t think I marched there for this reason – it could carry another name – but because there is a very important goal... this goal I wanted to take – and you know – we are very modest, we have it already."
Adolf Hitler, November 1942

"Comrades, Red Army men, commanders and political workers, men and women guerrillas! It is on your perseverance, staunchness, fighting skill and readiness to discharge your duty to the country that the defeat of the German-fascist army and the liberation of the Soviet land from the Hitlerite invaders depend! We can and must clear the Soviet land of Hitlerite vermin."

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/asia-p ... 262596.stm

Armed police backed up by a million volunteers are taking part in a mass security operation similar to the one employed during last year's Beijing Olympics.

On the other hand the MG42 will cater to much more than the WW2 market since the visually similar MG3 is still in use in many countries. This means that a lot of "modern day reenactors" will want them.

Well the PPSH41 caters for WW2, Korea, Vietnam, and it is still in use to this day by eastern block countrys and insurgents the world over!

check out this pic of a US 3rd Marine clearing a building in Fallujah Iraq in 2004 using a captured PPSH

As far as reenactors go, they can already buy a deact M53 for around £325 which is 98% idential to the MG42, so they dont really need an airsoft version.

Whilst I love the MG42 and have one, they are only any use in ww2 or mil-sim games with limited ammo rules. take one out on a normal open day and you will be outgunned and out-manouvered by all the MP5's, M4's and minimi's and have an aching back to boot! The 42 is one of those guns that everyone thinks "WOW! I'd love one of those, it wud be so cool and I'd OWN the field with it!" The reality of skirmishing with a gun that 44inchs long and weight 10+kg is a bit different and its certainly not everyones cup of tea. On open days you have all the drawbacks and zero advantage

That said, I really hope AGM do release the MG42, but I hope they release a PPSH41 even more! It would really open the floodgates for eastern front ww2 events.

Well it looks like we won't be seeing anything for a while from AGM. Thier boss has been sent to jail and by all accounts it could be for some time. Factory won't be producing anything. Trust it to be AGM that make the Mp40, Mp44 and the new Sten :x Hopefully some of the wholesalers have stock piles.

The rumour of the Enfield and the Garand seem to be the latest ones doing the rounds. Lets hope they come to something. Apparently whats happening to AGM also happened to CYMA and JG last year. Both were out of action for a couple of months. Lets hope AGM can get back to normal and the release of the MG42 is still before Christmas.

I think one of the Gas guns mentioned in CW's quote is a clone of a TM M4. By all accounts it has a very unique internal system from what I've beeen told. I had details somewhere.
