Does anyone have a picture guide or whatever WRT removing the selector from the left side panel and in particular, patching the hole? This isn't something covered by Kalashnikov_kid's thread.
My MP40 is black, and I like it that way, so a brown bakelite painting guide isn't needed.

Thanks

Remove the plastic switch . If you take a pair of snipe nosed pliers to the hole behind it in motor body you can twist out and remove the return lever. To check you have the right bit before removal , lift it up and down whilst firing. Removing this bit will make the gun auto only . Not removing it will make it single shot only.

to fill the hole , go to Halfords by a small tube of P38 car body filler. Put masking tape over the hole on the outside and fill the hole with the filler from the inside . Leave it overnight , remove the tape and sand it flat. Then paint with paint of your choice.

Piss easy to do .

Thanks.
The gearbox internals aren't a problem. I'll be removing everything in there that's not needed to fire the gun full auto, and installing a MOSFET controller.

will there be any problems with spring compression with it being full auto only? I tend to fire one semi before I store mine? or will the mosfet help with this? :?

I'm planning on making the MOSFET controller myself, with a sensor that makes sure every cycle completes - that will remove the spring compression problem.

:good: nice, could you put a guide together once you have built it?

I most certainly will.
It's actually planned to be a development from a semi-only unit which you don't have to "train" every time you change the battery. So that might appear first under an M14 conversion banner.

Any advice on paint type? Would Halfords acrylic do it?
I assume I'll have to cover the whole thing so it matches.
