Hmm.... Personally I think it looks a bit crap... The comment on the You Tube video sort of sums it up for me. And the daft white bit sticking out of it maes it fairly pointless having it as a replica.

However, it is intended as a WW2 item... so I thought I might as well mention it.

Could make a cast of 1 to go around the outside of your dynotec BFG, I would imagine they're a similar size? That would be cool, and functional! :)

A Dynatec is much bigger... I have a dummy mills bomb... ;)

Also as soon as it hit something unless the casing is virtually steel strength then it'll break as the dynatec is rather heavy.

Yeah good point! I always thought mills bombs were fairly big. Anywho... is the mills bomb the 1 that detonates on impact rather than on timed fuse?

They've got timed fuses, if I remember right.

The markings on them show what the timings are....

Not exactly, the markings show the type of explosive filling, green band or pink band, and the suitability of the grenade for use in tropical climates. This is shown by red X [tropical], red /[temperate only] or red X- [one year shelf life in tropics] painted in bands about the body.
A red band shows the grenade is filled regardless of filling, it's a live one.

This comment:

I want to see it do that on a non-concrete surface.

It looks like it only works on concrete... will it work in woodland?

yes
drop it shoulder high on your lawn and it will go off, sensitivity can be adjusted, and it even can be set on a trip wire
its filmed on the drive as havening a solid color backdrop helps show the bbs.. and the rattle off the metal door is a nice dramatic effect.
is it perfect..no
does it have flaws..yep
the real questio is it better then the alternatives
gusee i need to respond to the youtube commet..

okay... thats one question sorted then...

What about the white bit coming out of the bottom?

It kind of ruins the look and would restrict the possibility of putting it in a pouch?

the grenade fits in modern pouches just fine.. I don't know about WWII kit..

the white clip is our standard safety, feel free to take it off, put it in pouch and dive for cover
this is a "limited" run of 100 for a reastion, to test the waters, to gain player feed back before chainging things and alarge investment is made in more molds( currant production is 28 a week), and to raise funds for said molds..
the mills bomb was chosen for its shape.. it just fits, it is time less...1915 till present (still turning up in the gulf) and it just reads "grenade" to the advrage player
the WWII crowd is added benefit (if they bite)

focuses on what it CAN be not what it is in a pict for the masses. it is a base for player improvement (ie custom paint, etc) that the reactor crowd is famous for

mod #1, getting rid of the white clip
adding an inch more of body tubing and cutting out some of the spoon lets the pull pin replace the white clip as the safety

on the reanactor side of things..
what color would be the best to cast it in? white (for repainting) black, dark green, tan??

Interesting.

I'm pretty sure they should always be black, certain all the ones I've seen are.

They'd either be painted black or be chemical blued (which is also pretty much black) and then have the markings painted on top.

That pic makes this look a lot more interesting than the one I saw before.

If you could get rid of the tubing and zip tie at the bottom then they'd be more realistic looking. The tube at the top looks like a small price to pay.

You describe these as single use, but maybe reusable if you're lucky. Fair enough, the price on the website seems to suit that.

How much are the mills bomb ones likely to be? And what about shipping to the UK?

How much water do they need to operate, and how much does get ejected with the BBs (if any or all)? As I know a few guys here are a bit touchy about getting water on their gear.

its 60ml of water(a hair more then a shot glass). you don't get wet or anything, it comes out in fine drops, given the 15'+ bast radius it works out to around .085ml per SF (or .6ml per foot of circumference)

Awsome. Thats quite an efficiant system then! I've seen siminlar ideas, but they relied on the BBs being carried by the jets of water as it left the 'balloon'. I now see that the water in yours is only really used for loading and to act as a subtle lubricant for the BBs against each other and the rubber when they are ejected? Nice one.

My originals are a glossy brown colour. It's not paint. It looks like shellac or some other varnish like covering onto the bare metal. It would help to seal the bomb against the elements.

When you get the Mills Bomb one, I will surely buy it if its similarly priced to the other ones you have on your site!
