You might want to divide your list into stock items like M1A1, MP40 and then custom build like BREN gun, No.4 etc...
A spell check also helps people to understand what you want.

He was talking about speel (sic) checking your text!

WRT the Bren/Type 99: Didn't the Type 99 have a ribbed barrel (a la Thompson M1928 and earlier), and a bayonet fitting?

Yup, ribbed barrel (and also ribbed harry handle for extra discomfort  ). Don't know about the bayonet lug - it had a fluted/conical muzzel a la the BREN. Where as the Vickers-Berthier had neither ribbed barrel nor fluted/conical muzzel.

plus i cant work out how the mortars work that fire the flashbangs, i understand all of it apart from how it gets from the barrel to the destination. as like they drop it in but dont hit any levers for gas or anything like that :/

The ones like that Gunman Airsoft use? They're a two-stage thermobaric charge. The 'round' is struck like a normal pea-grenade via a friction fuse, and then dropped into the mortar tube. the first stage 'goes off' and propels the charge out of the tube. The second (delayed) stage goes off a while later and is the ending 'bang' you see.

Looks to be attached to the bipod and/or gas tube.
