Probably a long shot, but I'm making one of these as an inert prop, and could do with some reference plan photos with rulers next to them.
just thought i'd try here as i've exhausted the internet i think!
I did.... and lent it to Major for the same purpose as he should be making one for me.
I would assume he can pass his pictures to you.
The 2" mortar has gone back to its original owner.
BTW, you might want to consider making the shortened airborne type. Mine will be the full size one and at some point I'll add the extra handle to make it into a Far East variant.
Don't know how much help it'll be but I found a reference in wiki that said the barrel length for a standard 2" mortar is 21".
(By the way if you do manage to get more info on the dimensions, can you let me know
thanks)

cheers, i'll speak to him on sunday!
i did consider the shortened version, but i haven't actually found a pic of one yet, was it identical apart from the 14" barrel instead of 21"? I found a length of 2" internal diameter steel pipe last night in the garage that was 21" long, so i can make either.
oh, fixed your enfield trigger/magazine mech BTW, i'll bring it on sunday!
Major probably has a pic of the shortened one in one of his books (If not I may have). I suggest you contact him before Sunday so he can bring stuff along with him.
Here's what relics make of the two versions... http://www.relics.org.uk/p0156.htm
They're a bit crap repros though.
Great news on the enfield part! Thanks! ![]()
I'll bring what I have.
