i agree with alex, i cant believe they charged you for this sh*t, they are awfull.
As I drifted off to sleep last night to the sound of a steel drum calypso (Caribbean near-neighbours were holding an all night party. I wouldn't have minded but no popular western music. Never played Girls Aloud, not once. Some party!) I had an epiphany. It's going to require some graft and engineering/modelling skills and patience I don't really possess but I'll have a working Tommy nonetheless...

chommers....if you need anything machined just let me know. it sounds like your hop location slots are too low,if so i can open them up for you. have not even tried to fit mine yet, and probably wont as i have lost all interest and will be selling my thompson anyway.

Thank you for the kind offer Jay
I've had a sit down and think and have revised my epiphany! My thought was to just use the CYMA body as-is but add the barrel, foregrip, pistol grip and stock of the AZR. Since building up the CYMA body to the correct shape with filler or somesuch will look dreadful (done by me) I thought 'how about machining the AZR body much thinner so that it fits as a cladding over the CYMA. Stuck down and joins filled, it should look OK."
BUT as I whacked the body in an effort to slide it off the plastic lower housing (it's a very tight fit) something dropped out. It was an inner ring that fitted into the outer barrel stub. Bugger. No, wait, I wonder if this will stop the inner barrel bearing against it and cure the wonky angle? Ah yes, it does!
So, another attempt tonight...
