I actually have one of those in my garage! :D I used to use it with my Shoei MG42 (see pic)

I actually find it hard to believe he is really selling them for that price, it just seems way way too cheap, they were going at the war and peace show for several hundred pounds, even ones without the hendsoldt optics.

I am not able to come to the d-day game due to previous commitments :( but would be happy to lend it or maybe sell it to any of you MG42 owners

So don’t think I marched there for this reason – it could carry another name – but because there is a very important goal... this goal I wanted to take – and you know – we are very modest, we have it already."

We can and must clear the Soviet land of Hitlerite vermin."

bugger the tripods, the damm things are heavy enough without them

also , its gonna take long enough to deploy a `42 just on its bipod in a contact, let alone rigging it up on a tripod,

yes they look cool, but i dont think there much use in an airsoft firefight

Maybe so , but you got to admit would look cool as fuck for DDay sat in sandbagged positions with a few 42s on tripods.

Actually they are great in a fixed position for area denial. you can use the periscope optic and blaster away without fear of getting hit. the oposition have got to either assault and eliminate the position or go the long way around. :D The downside is they weight a f**kin ton but a two man team can move it around the field quite easily carrying it a bit like a stretcher

a few years back, we actually built a little bunker for the 42 at GZ which was fun!

I've had a play with my '42 on an original WW2 dated Lafette. For daytime use, well, at airsoft ranges, it don't really make much of a difference.

But..........

For night time use in a fixed defensive position, they are awesome.

All you have to do is log T&E on it to fire on set areas and it's a fantastic device for area denial :D

Question is, do I really *need* to buy one? (I'm allowed to borrow the WW2 one off a mate, but I *really* dont fancy breaking it :? )

When we were a Kingdom it was run by a King
When we were an Empire it was run by an Empress
Now we're a country we're run by a..........

I'll PM you, I've got my hands on a whole pile of sand bags and a half cam net, which I'm converting to look like a hessian made ww2 net and want to build a proper defensive position for my mg42 with supporting elements either side for the Normandy game.

Kermit , of course you need to buy one , so that could be at least 4 MG42s making an appearance at D Day then :D Best keep this one quiet or the Allied booking will stop now .

I have the cheap one it cost me about £40 at W&P about 2 or 3 years back.
It looks quite good set up in the conservatory. 8)

It's a good job the allies had tanks on the beach on D-Day!
