Going off on more of a tangent - surely it's about time they realised what a market there is for an AEG Garand?

The Japanese would have to make one first do they could copy it!

not strictly true these days. they made the scar, fn2000, and mp40 from their own designs along with one or two others

More news on this... I think its the same thing...

There's also a wood kit.

Unfortunately it appears that they are half blind and have missed that the 1928 thompson has a completely different receiver from the M1A1... ffs

Looks like that or its a thompson M1 rather than the 1928 YOU have. At least it has the finned barrel & cutts compensator, so you can just work on the reciever. Denix Thompson for the reciever be worth looking at?

It has working bolt and firing mechanism, trigger sears etc, so needs to be at least partially hollow, should be OK to dremmel(Or mill if you know who to ask) any idea how triky it is to work with monky metal?

The way the Marui receiver fits is that it slides and locks on... If you're going to fit the denix one then you'll have to be damn good at dremelling!

I think its a real shame the chinese have got this one wrong.

Nope, The M1, it's claiming to be a 1928, but is an M1 finned barrel, cutts compensator, lyman battle sights, But cocking handle on the side, dont ask me why the change though.

Well, I got my Thompson Kit from AZR MAchine and Tool Co. for christmas and I must say, It is amazingly tooled. And about the reciever, I found a Thompson Springer which had a drum mag, and an Appropriate Upper reciever, so I just made use out of the drum mag, and I dremmeled out the drum mag, and fit a 60 round stick mag, and for the reciever, Im gonna dremmeled it off, and am going to fit it over the existing M1A1 reciever. It sounds a bit sketchy, but so far its working out very very well. All I need to do secure it to the metal M1A1 one. Im really not yet sure how it will be done, but ill probobly epoxy it. Heres some pictures of the kit the day after I got it. Ill deffinitely keep you guys posted on the rest of my conversion.

Heres some pictures of the CYMA Plastic THompson with some of the parts I managed to Salvage.

Looks Brilliant - much MUCH better than the Chinese one available on RSOV. Might need to resonsider my next purchase again. 8)

current AZR price list is as follows:

m1a1 wood kit(rear stock, pistol grip, horizonatal front grip(swivels and buttplate NOT included)) 83 euros

Ribbed barrel and cutts compensator 63 euros

Vertical pistol foregrip 23 euros

all excluding shipping and paypal fees. so to make it a 1928ish you're looking at aprox 150ish euros without postage. which is £120 without postage at the current exchange rate.
