What's the view of using black bb's over white ones, are they allowed, main thinking behind this being you can't see them before you get hit. Opposed to white bb's where on some occasions you can lean out of the way of the stream of bullets.
Is there any official rule on using these in game?

Not sure about CiA opinion but personally I dont use the black or the green BB's. It's all very well the enemy not seeing the rounds, but this is airsoft and with usual windy conditions, if you're using dark BB's you cant see where your rounds are going. Then there's the mixing them together to act as tracer, but to be honest I dont know of anyone that's brought them that keeps using them.
I tried green ones back in 2005, only used them for one game. Maybe just me but I like to see where my shots are falling, something that proved impossible with the darker ammo even in good light conditions. Obviously the target couldn`t see them either but taking into account the limited range and accuracy of AEGs I`d rather have a reasonable idea of where my ammo is going so I can adjust my aim. 
No official view on what chaps use - black, white or grey. Heh, I've used blue before now 
- it's down to personal preference, I don't think it gives any realistic advantage on balance.
There was a fad for black bbs a couple of years ago but as others have stated - it's all very well your enemy not seeing the steam of 'incoming' but it's very frustrating for the firer not seeing the tradjectory, you might as well be blind firing. The addition of white as tracer is all very well but it sort of defeats the object!
I only ask because someone gave me a BIG tub of them, look pretty good quality, go through the Tommy ok.
It is bloody annoying not being able to see the target. I just wasn't sure whether there was any official stand point particularly under the don't be a cock rule..
ANYWAY! Was considering using them in the 30.Cal with a few whites thrown in as tracers, thought that was a reasonable idea and given the large amount of ammo I'll probably run through it and giving that they were free, I'll probably do that. Not for the advantage, just because it's cheap!

spiers, i used them in my thompson to GREAT effect
with my mp40 , its a bit all over the place so i dont use em too much
if your sights work well and your hops set fine, there great, but you have to aim 
id suggest take half your mags black , and hallf white
depending on situation, you can switch mags
if your well hidden, you can shoot single shot with black
if your moving and fireing from the hip, use white
or be a real die hard and load your mags 1 white 4 black, it does work well
i also find putting the bottom 7 rounds in a mag as white, lets you know when to change mag, and the top seven as white gets you on target with your first burst, the middle rounds black.
its worth experimenting with, i always carry 1 mag of black for my mp40, ust in case i get a stealthy position, behind the enemy

I use them all the time, i mix them with about a quarter ogf white bbs to act as tracers, this works really well for me. I try to get all the hop units on my guns sorted so the sights are reasonably accurate Using whites shouldnt be aproblem if you keep your firing down to short bursts - the reason people can use it as an identifier is because YOURE USING YOUR AEG AS A SUPPORT WEAPON

Thanks JP, thats a good idea, and I do tend to aim down the sights. I'm having a fiddle at the moment, having a go at mixing them in for the 30.Cal but I will try in the Tommy.

I went in to a shop to buy some but I didn't speak arabic so they wouldn't give me any! They did say warning may explode suddenly on the back as well so I left them well alone

Tend to feel black bbs are a bit of a crap idea .
1 No.... you can't walk your shots onto target
..........but more importantly
2 People miss getting hit . .I suggest a lot of people feel a bb , and quite often see it , hence know for sure they've been hit . Black BBs in my past have always seemed to increase the amount of "I hit him..... he didn't take it ".
3 You cannot always tell when you gun is feeding or not , esp if you mix in with white .
If you got them for free then happy days used em up , but suggest they are not a good idea going forward.
Agree with that, when I was plinking a few outta the Tommy in the back garden mixed in with some white ones I did initially think it was miss feeding.
Won't be buying any but will whizz 10,000 rounds through the Support weapons pretty quick me thinks.

they were great at long range, all over the place, when spraying off a full mag of mp40 as suppression fire, they covered the whole bridge
