I am 99.99999% certain that its totally illegal to make a deac shoot anything!!!!

(Edit: okay you knew that... but its worth re-itterating, so I'll leave it.)

What warren does is take spare parts and use those along with custom made parts to make new guns. The parts were never parts of a deac so he's safe!

I concur with Yith on this one. I questiond a Sec. 5 RFD I know about this an age ago, and he said its not possible to convert one legally within the UK...

When we were a Kingdom it was run by a King
When we were an Empire it was run by an Empress
Now we're a country we're run by a..........

totally agree, we know the us alow some funny things to be dun with a de-ack and even live weopens,
but it is a BIG NO to do any thing in the good old UK,

its all about the action and the barrel mostly, so theres now point in even going there :)

team shoot and scoot, TL

I did talk to a guy (Beagle on ASCUK) from New Zealand who converted a real MG34 (or similar) to airsoft. Left the active bits in NZ and successfully imported it to the UK...

Because it was never actually a deac he was okay aparently.

At least thats what he told me.

We know Beagle - he plays at our regular site and we've been trying to persuade him to come to the Arnhem game.

I think he actually built the MG34 from scratch - hence getting around legality issues.

I thought you couldnt touch the reciever, working parts or barrel. Furniture is fair game though, liek handguards, stocks etc.

You mustn't take the parts of a deac... any of the parts

Using spare parts that have never been on a deac is fine, though.

If a gun smith/proof house has classified a weapon as deac then can they not strip the thing, destroy the working bits and de-classify or write off as detroyed?

Is there some sort of central database where deacs are logged or is it just sufficient that you have a certificate with the weapon?

I assume the proofing house will have a record... I doubt anywhere else will...

It says on the bottom of the De activation certificate that it is a crime to copy it. I agree with yith, I think the proof house have copys but you cant get a copy if you lose the original, you have to get it re inspected at

OK, the qualified/registered gusmith strips the deac, re-submits deac cert & weapn to proof house and re-register as destroyed - can't be impossible surely?

A bit of a nasty thing to do to an antique though surely?

Much better to make your own from scratch or use spare parts...
