yup,i recently replaced the stock 2 piece barrel for a longer one piece barrel and it had a marked improvement on accuracy ,to do it i used a regular aeg barrel and removed the original hop part and turned down the hop end and drilled as necessary.im not sure that extending it is a good idea, the reason that they did the two piece barrel in the first place is due to piston volume to barrel volume ratio's,in essence if the volume of the barrel is greater than the swept volume of the piston then it will cause a resistance to the bb before it leaves the barrel.not an issue with a vsr conversion (far higher swept volume) or with the barrel i fitted that was just less than the length of the combined two piece original but extending it into the silencer may cause an issue as that's radically longer,i could be wrong however!

if its gas then i dont think there will be a problem with barrel length,as for hop bucking that was standard but take a look at the k98 springer thread as im putting in a vsr hop into a dboys with the original bolt.
