Well I have been working on this for a couple of months on and off.
Here is a photo for you but it isn't finished yet, I have a stainless steel barrel on order and still need to make the magazine catch, I also have some parts to make for connecting the battery stick that fits inside the gas pipe under the barrel.
I was also wondering how compatible the VFC mag was with my version in terms of the feed position centre from the front of the mag.

Thanks guys I have just been looking at your work the last week and it is awesome, I am pleased you have joined this forum to expand the ranks of custom airsoft makers
This gun could be much better if I put the time in, like many of my projects I tend to rush some bits of them when I shouldn't. I have a bit of jack rabbit in me bouncing from one project to an other many times before one is complete.
I just got an other 2 x M14 gearboxes and I am thinking maybe an other 1919A4 but better, how about a hybrid airsoft and simulator
I was looking at a propane simulator Vickers recently and I got thinking how about shoe horning an AEG in with one of them for fun.
Here are a few bits of info on the BAR for anyone that wants to try one.

Saw the BAR the other day and I can confirm it looks the dogs bollocks. Nige, 1919A4 with the bipod and carry handle and shoulder stock would be great.
Show me a man who will jump out of an airplane, and I'll show you a man who will fight!

Keep us in touch about the propane simulator progect please Odball. I've been playing with the idea of a simulator MG34. Propane bottle is easy as is divers bottle. Ford ranges even have an HPA compressor so I can recharge the divers bottle for free. An MG34 has to be easy to replicate with as many real steel add ons as I can pick up from ebay. and a big airsoft battery may well be enough to sort the spark. All I need is to know how to plumb the internals and what's needed in there.
Could be a good winter project. Never going to get kills with it but could help with general atmosphere in a battlefield.

Several years ago I was going to get into this but changed direction and went more for airsoft.
Take a look on a friends channel here as he continued with the simulator direction and has since made them for tanks etc.

This is a bit quiet maybe because the mic is behind the gun.
