Looks like I can get my hands on the rather gorgeous looking G&G/pps K98. Have a couple coming to me to do a photoshot with. Price should be £255 posted out which after a quick look is considerably cheaper than elsewhere online.
The PPS really is the one to get ,its a true Tanaka clone but with infinitely adjustable power so its not going to be hot on a hot day and crap in winter , the G+G version is based on the Tanaka but the parts dont cross ove and it has only two different power magazines and the lower power one can still be over 350fps on a hot day ! Plus the wood finish is better on the PPS version.£225 is a good price as well .
