Curses! Rats! etc.
Using my recently acquired Bruni 1911 lookalike yesterday, it has decided to commit suicide. Basically, the front end end has shot off taking the returning spring (I think). Does anyone think it can be fixed or where i can get another? Its a real shame 'cos it was great fun.

sounds like a write off mate, can you post a picture?
i dont think you`ll get spares but someone might be able to make a spring up and parts that failed
"Take that you rotton helping of strawberry flan!"
Joseph Porta to "strawberrys and cream", in the sven hassel book ,ogpu prison
With a colt isn't the front bit supposed to be able to come off? It may be just a case of putting it back together.
Do you have all the bits?
This vid might help, shows field stripping. May give an idea of why the front end flew off.

Yes you just twist the front off when you are striping it down, but if it has bust post some pics. I presume you have the parts and they didn't fly off into a forestry black hole.
Free speech is expensive these days!
No sadly no bits - off into the cosmos. So is there any knackered ones out there that i could make up a gun 'un? Alternatively (and probably more realisticly) does anyone know where i can buy another working one?

“I wanted to come to the Volga at a specific location at a specific city. By chance it carries the name of Stalin himself. So don’t think I marched there for this reason – it could carry another name – but because there is a very important goal... this goal I wanted to take – and you know – we are very modest, we have it already."
Adolf Hitler, November 1942
"Comrades, Red Army men, commanders and political workers, men and women guerrillas! It is on your perseverance, staunchness, fighting skill and readiness to discharge your duty to the country that the defeat of the German-fascist army and the liberation of the Soviet land from the Hitlerite invaders depend! We can and must clear the Soviet land of Hitlerite vermin."
