This may be a daft question, but as a rank noob with a recently purchased GBB Colt 1911 and an AEG MP40, is there a method for testing and aligning the sights on these? Not being able to read Japanese I'm not even entirely sure how to adjust the hop up on these two. Any advice appreciated.
I have one of those MP40s. I know that some of them had dodgy hop units, but mine was fine. Obviously, slide the fake bolt back to reveal the hop adjuster. Fire the weapon. Move the hop tab towards you (in very small increments) to put more backspin on the BB, and thereby increase range. If the BBs start to rise at the end, then that is too much hop up (in my opinion).
I was very pleasantly surprised at the range my MP40 achieved - hope yours is as good. ![]()

You've got nothing to ein, zwei, drei, vier
Do as steiner says then for hitting the target I use the official US army method as described in the field manual for the M3A1 grease gun rather than actualy looking down the sights

Quote US ARMY FIELD MANUAL M3A1
The sights are not used to aim the weapon; the firer simply points the
weapon toward the target and commences firing.
