I am trying to figure out what rifle I actually used as the donor for my No 4 project.

It closely resembles a TM VSR 10, even when you take it apart and look at the internals, BUT the cylinder and hop and the inside diameter of the outer barrel are narrower than those of a VSR. A VSR Hop has a diameter of 26mm while this is more like 22mm. -- attachment is not available --

I read somewhere that a Well MB02 had a narrower hop and cylinder but I have bought a Well MB02 hop and it is too large. I also know it was not an ASG Varmint M70 but I have seen some photos of that and it does look like it has a narrow cylinder.

Does anyone know what this could be?

Cheers.

Ranj

Looks like an old Aps2 hop to me.

Regards,

Ralph

I can't give you an answer on the origins of your hop but can I ask what bit is broken ? It might be possible to fix it rather than replace it .

Give me a big enough hammer and a place to stand and I could fix the world.

I will put up a detailed pic of the damaged bits later.

I think it might get through Sunday, but it won't last much longer.

I just checked the one I have and its of the 26mm veriety but I just remembered I think tercel made an off speck vsr that was narrower ,I used a couple of them in early rifle builds .it was a model called the sharp shooter ,can't find it in stock anywhere now ,you could try the ASPUK webshop, they might be able to help.

The frame above the hop arm has broken.
-- attachment is not available --

This catch has worn down and BBs enter the cylinder. I have put a stronger spring behind the catch which seems to have helped.

The top of the hop arm has cracked here.

The hope adjuster still works as it is but I'm not sure for how long, hopefully it will get me through Sunday.

Looking around I am pretty sure what I used was an AGM MP001, the Tercel is very similar but the AGM is spot on in having a 22mm diameter cylinder and in appearance. I am thinking of doing away with the VSR type hop altogether and putting an APS2 type unit (they are 22mm right?) if the nozzle on my gun is compatible - it is certainly narrower than a proper TM VSR nozzle. That will probbaly mean new mags and issues fitting them in the existing mag well though, so I might just find an AGM MP001 and take the hop out of it, as well as all the other bits which look like they are wearing out. My cylinder is scratched to hell and the bushings are made of 35mm film canisters.

I might have a MP001 kicking around or at least most of it I think it had problems slam firing, (fairly sure theres no stock, can't remember what happened to that), if I can find it you can have it, I'll look tomorrow.

Had a look in a few places but not found it so far, still got a few more places where it might be. I'll let you know as soon as I find it

I'm almost certain I've got a spare MP001 hop casting knocking around somewhere, if Pete has no luck.
