Was it one of these?
viewtopic.php?f=13&t=2800&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&start=60
in standard form they are useless & eject a shell every shot, why they never made a MP001 based one from the factory beats me,
Steve.D
Its one of the shell ejectors, looks good but a bit impractical. Guinness did a very good review here..http://ww2aa.proboards45.com/index.cgi?board=gun&action=display&thread=1197008859
thanks guys, i know the shell ejectors arnt practical, but for 100 quid, its worth a punt.
im used to getting peppered by bbs anyway, at least if i manage to cycle the bolt 5 times b4 i die, it would be a real bonus =)

got one of these arriveing wednesday, anyone grafted a k98 wood stock on one ?????
im gonna look round for a wood stock, maybe try it depending on the price. im going to keep the shell ejecting feature,(im not bothered too much about rate of fire with a bolt action, and id prefer it to "look good" rather than perform as a 500 fps VSR sniper rifle) ill just get plenty of shells, and try and catch em in woodland.
getting a good hit on an opponenet with a 5 round bolt action airsoft , in a firefight, will be a challenge indeed.

Here ya go..http://www.gunnerairsoft.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=902
thanks guys
i should get it on wednesday, so ill see how good it is, if it looks really crappy, ill order a stock from gunner, if its reasonable at a distance (6 feet away) i may leave it as plastic, only the quality will decide
thanks for all the help guys.
stubblehopper said he was going to use real k98 empty cases and make em in to shells, anyone know him, and know if it worked ????
thanks again for the help

Anthony i have two 98k's - a tanaka and one of the chinese cartridge ones.
i actually like them both - although both have faults in game play, to cold means Tanaka gas one is bad, or skirmish with cartridges with the chinese one.
Still for shooting garden intruders - both are great lol
OK for the Chinese cart version - cartridges are fairly cheap - but deffo best to get stripper clips.
I'm gonna buy a batch of for me and a few more shells - i have 15 so far.
Game wise u have 2 problems - 5 carts per 'mag' and manual re-load of bb into cartridges.
strippers will help with reload of prepped carts.
I'm still trying to work out the range and kill ratio of the clone-cart-98k, but if u were at a skirmish, in a fixed base - there are worse weapons you couldn't kill Tommy or Ham-Shank with
drop me a PM with yer contact details m8, if you want to talk about it, could drop my carty-98k over if u want.
Del
A bit late for you Porta but Land warrior have the wood stocked version for £140.
I'm still put off getting one due to the shells. I love the idea of reloading the gun like the real thing (and Kar98 mag pouches would actually be useable) but at about £2 each shell I wouldn't consider them cheap enough to risk losing in a game. Either way I'd say stripper clips are a must have.
cool thanks for all the feedback guys,
mines arriveing tommorrow del, but thanks for the offer of a sneek peek.
if its any good i will get a wood one as well
ive got to get stripper clips by the sound of it, call me sad, but the real style of 5 rounds and reload appeals to me, (I can always keep an mp40 in the car in case of mood change on the day)
as for the cases , if i loose one its only the price of a flashbang, ill use my pyro budget on cartridges instead

Hi Joseph,
A mate of mine has one of the original Marushin cartridge loaders, which this new k98 has been cloned from, the range is not so hot, but that could be his rifle, I would be interested in any feedback on the range of this new rifle, I also like the idea of stripper clips and spare rounds, the real issue is does it outrange the MP40.
Thanks
of course ill provide some feedback battleaxe.
ill hopefully collect it tomorrow night (wednesday)
and i should be able to get some testing done at weekend.
ill also post photos,

Interesting !...look forward to hear it's range capability !...
Porta !.... you could have a go at making a shell catcher, like the type available for the cap firing Mp40. Not sure how well it would work though,...just a thought !
shell catcher??????? the whole point of haveing it is so you can see the case fly off in to the air
ill just have to keep one eye on the cases as they eject, and pick em up as situation allows.
probably only fire 1 or 2 shots b4 dieing in a skirmish anyway

the shells don't go too far - I tested mine at the KGSS meet on Sunday.

And how did it perform? I've heard the main problem with these is consistency. As the shell basically forms part of the barrel there are two possible points where airseal can be lost at each end of the shell and as the shells vary slightly in terms of how well they seal you get some shots which are good and powerful and others which are not. A bolt-action is not much use if you cant get good shot after shot consistency IMO.

Boshman there were several factors that affected the testing lol.
I didn't have the correct weight of bb i was wanting to try - thought I had packed them, but hadn't.
The range we were using had a cross wind, which pissed me off lol. I'll take it out again, probably next CiA game for testing.
I need to clean with a pull through and remove the vast amount of grease from the internal mag.
Hopefully Tony may be able to test his sooner than me, my back garden is over looked by too many neighbours to allow testing here.
I have to agree with Tony on the thoughts of 5 shells and re-load, slows things down too 'back in the day' lol - however i am waiting to see if it's gonna just be a display piece or other
Cool! keep us posted! It would be great if these could be a viable skirmish weapon. If it could be made accurate and powerful enough to out-range the SMG it would be great. Im not optimistic though
