To allow the forward gas assembly to fit I shortened the the front handguard and then re profiled the wood to allow the (modified) M14 ferrule to fit. I also filed/dremeled the splines enough so that it fits snugly on the M14 barrel. The genuine gas assembly now threads onto the m14 barrel and is held in place at the rear by the modified ferrule.

With the shortened mag..

Nice job! ![]()

Free speech is expensive these days!

MMM that's a real nice looking Rifle - great job ![]()
point is where to find m1 wood body and the total cost in uk~~
but aeg m1 is surely attractive
dount forget lads the gas return/frount sight is a section 5 item so dount use this part, even if you can get hold of it !!
looks good mind
Why ??...its a non load bearing part
Because it's part of the gas re-loading system and considered to be part of the firing mechinism, if you want these parts buy Warrens copies which are cast in bronze, I've got a couple of his kits and they look good

ok...so how come Cotswold arms was supplying & selling single shot straight pull M1 rifles & M1 carbines with these parts on FAC he did 10 of each in 3006 & 30m1 on my suggestion for ww2 reenactors ??
i had one, all GI parts apart new reciever and new barrel made without gas vent hole to get round the section 5 law !!!....worked great on blanks, straight pull but bit fussy on live 3006.

OH look GI parts !
But thats converted weapons that still requires a FAC, the point is you can't buy any parts of the firing mechanism of any gun, (including straight pulls), without a FAC.
OH look GI parts !
It doesn't change the facts or the law and I have no intention of ending up in court over parts that you can get replicas for at the same sort of cost as the originals, why take the risk?

Okay,
As I understand it the firing mechanism has nothing to do with it. You cannot buy a pressure bearing part i.e reciever, barrell etc. unless you have an FAC and a 'slot' for that part on your licence.
Anyone can buy a trigger kit for example;

The front part of my m14 conversion was purchased as an 'airsoft conversion part' It was modifed in the US, were it is perfectly legal to do so, and cannot now be used on the real thing. It is therefore not, if it ever was, a pressure bearing part any more.
You cannot however modify any deac weapon into an airsoft weapon. It is totally illegal.

Interesting, but sec 5 does not apply to anything here.

AZR are a well known custom gun factory...but they are very hit and miss with quality...Take a look at this thread http://www.ww2airsoft.org.uk/php/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=5183. They're shipping prices are way over quoted too.
The company is based in asia. They quote in euro and dollars because it gets them more cash.
dang rite matey...they quoted me 93 euros for post on a Garand kit !!!
