I'm told it's broken and have found a little nub of broken off metal inside the stock but have not idea what a 'trigger lug' looks like.
Can anyone help me by posting a pic?

What was the trigger doing to make you take a look?
It could be the 'nipple' on the trigger assembly that sits in a hole on the exterior of the gearbox. To allow it to swivel.

Sorted maybe - it was the lug thing that the trigger moves when you pull it. Replacing it would have meant replacing the whole trigger, if that's possible... So here's hoping that glue or solder will fix it.
It's an AGM M14
