Hi Guys,

Embarking on a project now that I have finally identified the problem with my S&S .30cal (it now works) so for the december game, I am going to manufacture the pieces neccessary to converting it into 1 of the 1s used in the Winter months and late war campaigns.

Need to make a fluted barrel flashider, Bipod, carry handle (similar to the BAR by the looks) and a stock.

Already started making the stock...

I hope you're going to be making it a reversible conversion?

It'd be a shame if it couldn't be used for earlier war stuff as well.

Well im hoping to have the bipod like the BAR is, where its on a collar which isnt fixed to the outter barrel, the flash hider ill just screw into the outer barrer discretely, and the stock ill clip on, from photos of the real thing it looks like it fits over the normal tigger, and secured via a clip.

Can't wait to see this. Sounds great! Also make it more portable in that you don't have the tripod to carry as well.

Ok pretty much completed the stock and its now attached, I made a collar out of aluminium and screwed to to both the existing handle and the wooden part of the new stock. At the moment it is kept in place by a 1943 dated black cable tie ;) but will be replaced by some sort of jubilee clip (when i buy 1 tomorrow)

Looks brilliant, are you going to use a modified BAR handle for the carry handle on top?

Photo of the Bipod legs on the assembly line

Picture of the Collar for the bipod, I was looking on the photos of the real bipod, and there seems to be these brackets hanging down, maybe they were for resting the gun on hard cover without actually deploying the legs?

Overview with the legs rested up against the collar

Just put the bipod together, and it holds the weight of the gun and has a bit of flex in it. I have attached wing nuts to it so i can position the legs in the up as well as down position.

Ended up using a combination of a ribena bottle and a polyprop champaign flute!

Carry handle just arrived from SOF, I've also re-enforced the bipod so it shouldn't break again (like it did friday night)

Almost finished now, just needs a bit more work on the tip of the barrel (needs attaching somehow so that its easily taken off to revert back to the tripod (a4) version.
