Following on from the 25pdr I built last year, (currently residing at Fireball) I have been planning (read 'daydreaming') a couple of additional projects. This is the first and completes the US artillery for the time being.
Next will be a PAK 40 (steel armour already started and huge barrel acquired) and a Nebelwefer to werf nebels!
I have plans to add an AEG of sorts, set to single shot, but for now it will fire little pyros just for effect.
Love the wheels what are they made of??
Nice work
The wheels are steel. I bought them off a stall at Malvern. They had some cheaper unpainted ones too. I wish I had bought those as well now.
I need to add a counterweight to the breech area to offset the barrel. I will hopefully figure this out during the week and fit it next weekend. Overall I am happy. The gun rotates and can be completely reversed if needed. The trails are hinged and can be locked together for moving. (really happy with how this bit works and looks). Might just add a few touches to dress it a bit.... perhaps using a stencil or two
Great work. I guess going to see it in action in August.
look's good ,we had to add counter balance weights in the breech on the Flak38 we made otherwise the barrel would have been in the dirt all the time.

Give me a big enough hammer and a place to stand and I could fix the world.
i'll kill a man in a fair fight or if i think he's going to start a fair fight or over a woman or.......
a problem shared is a problem halved ,but an advantage shared is no advantage at all
if a job's not worth doing then its certainly not worth doing well
To solve the counter weight problem on the Flak38 we added a Wooden Ammo box on the trail fits in nice and gave the required result. Have a look at the pics
Cheers, my problem is slightly different. The trails are steel and are heavy. The problem is the barrel and armour are mounted on a central pivot, held to the 'chassis' by a retaining bar with split pins top and bottom. When static all is ok, but when the trails are lifted, the barrel tilts forward. I need to attach some steel, or an ammo box full of stones to the breech. Wont be hard to do and will look ok once painted up.
there's also a large lump of lead in the breach of the flak38 for that reason as well.

Added a little colour and added an AEG, set to single shot...
Pull the lever on the left side for 'pew pew'.
Good man
