would it be posible to turn am M60 into an MG 42??
Most things are possible with the right tools to do the job 
The one thing that jumps to mind with trying to convert a 60 to a 42 is that the receiver of the 42 is more shallow than that of 60. You might be better off using a V3 box from an AK, and building the rest up around it.

its been said that the M60 is the B8stard child of the MG42 and the FJ38(?) the paras LMG/assault rifle, so why not? Could be interesting!
Aye, a lot of the design features of the 42 found their way onto the 60. Sadly, however, the technology transfer didnt include the reliability of the original 42!
