You could put a real one on...

I know you'd have to import, but surely with the exchange rate like it is that's not going to hurt too much?

V.nice, Rambocanada.

Do you still need the rear sight info? I have one from a No.5, which is apparently the same as the No.4's Mk1 rear sight except for the range markings.

That is fantastic work there. I'm planning an Enfield project myself but you are setting the bar very high. May I ask do you plan to keep this as a one off for yourself or have you thought of taking that milled block and replicating it? I dont think you'd be short of customers :good:

Yeah... you need to start producing kits of the metal work. Ace stuff!

BTW, you really will need to shorten that mag, it's sticking way too far out at the moment.

RC when you order your timber, try and go for Kiln dried, that way it wont twist or split. Explain that it is for carving and you wont accept knot's in the wood. I'm using Ash for my project and the timber supplier was very helpful.

Very nice indeed.

Do I read right that you're going to have the magazine in the proper place, rather than the normal place forward that is forced by the bolt length?

If that's the case, for the tube you might want to consider "Continuous length extension springs". They have been used by some for MG feed mechanisms. An example of the material is below:
http://www.leespring.co.uk/pages/contlength.html

Can be seen in use here:

Nice, very nice.

A suggestion though. slotted screws instead of cross head ones would be a lot more authentic looking.

Looking nice, you could try a PSG1 mag, or a Vietnam style M16 mag, might suit the challenge. I think a G3 mag might be slightly too high.
