You'll find it's draining your battery because of the spring that's in it. Many chinese Thompsons are above 350fps and this will drain your battery much more quickly. Plus, the supplied battery is a pile of crap to begin with.

Yer get yourself a nice big fat 8.4 like a GP one they last around 4 days.
Definitely. Just a drop to 330fps and a decent battery will make an incredible, instantly noticable difference to your battery durability.

Yes, supplied battery is poo - get a decent NiMH which will have to be a 'mini' (unless you change the connector to the large tamiya, in which case the 2200mAH is fine)
I wouldn't trust the supplied charger either!

Best to just get a new one, seeing as you're opening the gearbox anyway. Also gives you a chance to clear out the god awful grease that the Chinese insist on putting in aeg gearboxes.

I emailed them and if you contact them with the battery that you want they will put which ever size connector you want on it before they send it out. I was still running my Thompson on the original battery and it just about lasted 1 24hr game without needing charging...
Get your self a big high cap battery and then you don't have to worry about them running out midgame.
