Got myself a pps a few weeks back with a couple Tanaka mags.
Tested in garden fine.
1st time skirmish and the rubber seal in the bolt that sits on the mag gas outlet came out and got chewed up a bit....so now bbs go a few feet
Searched everywhere and cannot find the part anywhere. It looks like it would be part number 34 on the Tanaka 98...which again doesn't seem to be available.
Anyone had to replace this seal before, how did you do it ?
You need one of these sets:

Two of the rubbers are useless, but the router that you've lost is the same and far superior to the original!
You Beauty !!
Ok.....the router was again chewed/fell out at Veirville. Back in April I just pushed the new rubber into place. Should I install it some other way ? Take that end of the bolt off and insert rubber from inside ? A very small drop of glue to hold it ?
Or is it just one of those things and you should carry a spare ?
Thats crappy luck , a touch of super glue should hold it in but i've never had mine fall out so its strange .it might be worth looking at the brass cone that it mates with on the mag , they should be sprung so they push in , if one is sticking up it cause it to pull on the rubber.

Give me a big enough hammer and a place to stand and I could fix the world.
i'll kill a man in a fair fight or if i think he's going to start a fair fight or over a woman or.......
a problem shared is a problem halved ,but an advantage shared is no advantage at all
if a job's not worth doing then its certainly not worth doing well
Same here; I've probably put over 800 rounds through mine over the last couple of years and have never had a problem with this part - hope you get it sorted as it really is a lovely gun.
Maybe post up a picture of where it is meant to sit so we can see if we can spot any problems?
Cheers for the replies.....it might be a couple of weeks before I get to have a proper look at it and photos...working in Wombledon for September...so a race home friday night, get everything washed and ready for return trip on Sunday, plus any lists wife and children have built up for me
The rifle has been fine for 5 months..used each month without issue since seal went in, then this weekend, went to take bolt out to show razorlight and it refused to come out...seal was wedging at rear of breech. Reseated and it went ok for 2 mags and must have fallen out around the pillbox.
The brass collars on the mags are fine I think, one does occasionally stay down rather spring back if pressed down. Have taken it apart and silicone oiled it and froglubed the rim but still happens occasionally
The brass collars on mine were a bit sticky to start with but wore in after a while
Got a quick 30 mins fiddle with her at the weekend. Couldn't see anything wrong....though two mags are currently in transport box up in loft.
Put a new rubber in, tried first off with the collared end down towards mag. She fired but with little force. So swapped round and fired ok. Put 10 rounds through with no issue.
Will check other mags at weekend - doing open day at my local.
Should the collared bit go over the lip in the bolt ? Doesn't appear to be enough room but haven't been able to find any pics on the web to confirm one way or t'other.
