about the same as the MP44's, wasn't it? Quick snip of the spring and it'll be right.

Ares and STAR are two different companies. Ares used to manufacture on contract to STAR, in the same way that LCT used to make AK kits for Inokatsu.

Pity it's Ares as their products (and i've taken apart their M4, SOPMOD 14, FNC, Cheytac, SLR & M14 EBR) are pretty poorly designed. They tend to use a *lot* of specialised parts inside their gearboxes and their spares support is so dire that a small internal breakage will turn the whole Airsoft gun into nothing more than an expensive paperweight. Me, i'll wait for the AGM one as you know they'll be a lot more sensible about the internal design than Ares are.

Now we're a country we're run by a..........

Gotta agree with Kermit, Ares products are a bit iffy at the best of times. You can guarantee that the Chinese will copy it. Sods' law says it will come out after Boryszyn! :slap:

Oh, we've already got plenty of excuses (and lots of ideas!) for more Russian stuff! Proper weaponry will definitely help to make people flock to the Red Banner though. :good:

not being experienced with ares at all, but being with star, ares are considered to be better than star no?

i used to own the star m60MK43 and the plastic gearbox, well couldnt say much for it, and to say that the gearbox pins kept coming loose so the gearbox slid back, either meaning loss of air pressure going to the hop unit or just stopped firing completely.

whereas ares have metal gearboxes ( not saying much as nearly every other company uses metal gearboxes as standard ) and stronger metal in the important places?

Now a 'namsofter. I have an M72 L.A.W. for sale for 110 posted, PM if interested.

I had a Star M249 and it was great... sure there were problems, but they were mostly caused by me pissing about with it. As for spare parts, I had no problems at all!

I've had more metal gearboxes break than plastic ones.

Star L85A2 for me, got it the day it came out, then had to get the internals stripped out and replaced with something that was not made of Kinder Egg Plastic!, had I nearly five years now and not a problem, but AGM will make a PPSH41 soon anyway, it's all about sales

Well I've looked and I can't find a picture of me with it... perhaps I never had one and that year was something I dreamt?
