they're classed as live firearm parts over here, so totally impossible unless you have a firearms license. You'd be liable for prosecution just for importing it.

DM is spot on. I ran this past someone at work who deals with all our firearms and explosive licensing recently.

Put simply, it doesnt matter if its been blowtorched into 5 pieces, its STILL considered to be a firearm requiring licensing (in this particular case, Sec 5) as it hasnt been deactivated to UK standards, and certified as such. And even then, as a certified de-ac you couldnt do bugger all to it.

Well, actually, if they haven't been previously built into an active 'real steel' gun, effectively unissued items, all of the furniture is okay to use if you can import it without purchasing the mechanism, receiver and barrel.

It's illegal to re-activate a deactivated weapon, but if the airsoft weapon you build is made from parts that were never 'active' in the first place, then no crime is done, just as long as they are not the mechanical/operational parts of a gun.

You are not left with much in that case and you could make the stock anyway.
A second hand Chinese air rifle stock would do with some work.

McVickers - 99.9% of the "parts kits" you will see for sale in the US are from weapons that have been built up, then "deactivated" to ATF specifications (and if you think our deacs are dealt a disservice by the procedure used over here, you should see how they do it in the US - with a blowtorch!)
