I belive jay851 is building a G43, but I can`t find the thread on this forum, he has some pics over on the US forum here http://ww2aa.proboards45.com/index.cgi?board=technical&action=display&thread=1193508168
hi marco
on my g43 the frame for the gearbox, magwell, hop and barrel mount is all machined out of aluminium, but im lucky in the sense that i have access to mills and lathe's. not sure how pvc would hold up but i guess its going to be a lot easier to work with, and you can only use whats available to you at the time.

Personally, it'd be metal for me all the way, i like the heft of a gun that has at least a similar weight to the real steel.
Plastic guns, even if built well, still feel 'flimsy' and prone to damage to me.

I`ve gotta agree there, plastic is only really suitable for prototypes or test guns, maybe as a pattern to use for a steel one. ![]()
