They're not as nice as you'd think.
They pretty much all solid wooden blocks (you can see the woodgrain in a lot of them).
They're totally unsuitable for conversion.
I wouldn't bother.
Please beware, changing a deactivated/ blank firing weapon to an airsoft weapon and or a weapon that can firer a projectile is against the law, is it classed as manufacture.
Example, removing the barrel from say....an deactivated MG42, instantly make that weapon into a section 5 firearm / a machine gun.
I know where ya coming from thought about it myself, then i found out about the laws, there is no way around it.

unless, like the ones at relics, or the denix ones, they're already RIF's, and have never been 'real' guns or blank firers.
Denix make a huge range of replica weapons including a number from ww2, I've got a 1928 Thompson and an Enfield SMLE made by them.

Denix ones? What are they?
yes they are replicas so there isn't like modding a real gun.
if they are solid wood... mmm....
I've alwasy wondered this, having seen a few threads mentioning Denix. Anyone got a UK distributor site they want to share? eBay comes up with swords and Black Besses, and modern ones in Oz.
I'd agree with the above sentiments about relics; once bought some Soviet F1 grenades off them, and despite the price, they were crap. Painted plaster body, wooden fuse and the spoon was made of absolutely rubbish monkey metal. Steer clear.

Are all of Relics' guns rubbish as I've looked at the MGs in the 'modern metal guns' section and they don't look too bad? They certainly look alot better than the others I've seen; they are of course noticably more expensive however.
Actually, Tom used to have a wooden GPMG from them, and it looked OK, but not so good up close.
