I`ve been looking for a pistol to fill the holster on my FJ rig for a while now since I got rid of my gas Luger. Just came across this springer P38. Yes it`s bright blue but I can fix that easily enough, not looking for high fps either so just ordered one for £20. I`ll post up a review when I get it.

P38 arrived today....in red :)
It`s alloy with plastic grips and looks and feels the part for a cheap springer.
Unfortunately the take down and safety levers, and the hammer, are cast into the main body, so are non functional.
The mag release is at the base of the grip as per the real gun and is easy to use. The mag is also metal and I got 13 rounds into it.
One nice touch is the hold open device built into the gun so that when the mag is removed or empty, the slide won`t go forward unless you press down the black plastic release lever on the left side. Maybe useful if you get a jam as you can see the barrel and feed mechanism with the slide open.
The pistol doesn`t field strip which didn`t surprise me. There are numerous little screws which when removed should enable me to pull it apart and respray it.
It`s not powerful but I tried about 25 aimed shots, out to about 50 feet at a man sized target and all were on target. I tried further away but the rounds dropped off so only useful as a close up, although it is functional and a lot better than just having a non firing holster filler.
Here`s a few pics.

The lad bought one and it arrived today.
Nice filler
Sturdy make
As stated over 50 feet it is hit and mis but take it from me having used a real 9mm for years if you could hit at further with accuracy you would be a dead eye D**k. Anyway what are you doing trying to hit someone further away than that, it is up close and personal weapon.

£19 delivered great find get rid of the colour and you have a nice little WW2 pistol I think the gas P98`s are £130 ish

:good:

Totally agree, although many years ago when handguns were still legal, I used to manage 4 inch groups at 25 yards in practical pistol with a 9mm at the local gun club. :D
The gun stripped easily enough and I`ve now rubbed down and resprayed it. It`s a little too shiny but looks ok for now.

I see that is a plastic one, they sell the metal ones like yours on Blackpool sea front in red about £14 each.

Other stuff they sell are RIF MP44, Bergman MP28 & Thompson 1928 also sell Airsoft CO2 1911 all in real gun finish.
No sign to say you need to be a re-enactor to buy them :D

Yes it took me by surprise to see them in a sea front shop, looked to be a Denix type, think it was the MP28 as I made a steel one about 15 years ago that I still have in the loft.

Think it was about £175

I get up there now and then with my job, will take a photo if I don't get thrown out the shop :D
I got shouted at for trying to take a photo of the signs in my local tip a few weeks back, they have signs that tell you what to do in the event of an emergency a list of about 6 things like go home and turn on the TV or local radio and don't contact the Potter Group?
