Hi all

Sorry bit of a newbie question. My son is thinking of buying the stg44 but has seen them chrono'd on u-tube at 400+ Fps.

Can they be adjusted to 350?

Thanks

Yes, you need to replace the spring in the gearbox with one that is less powerfull.

And I guess the gearbox wizards can also tell you with spring you need to get around 350.

In a word yes

Most (if not all) airsoft sellers offer a downgrade service
Land warrior airsoft will downgrade all their Aeg to approx 350fps free of charge I believe but you can get it lower for a cost

To DIY you need a different spring which may also need to be cut down to get the desired fps but I have never done this myself

Hope this helps

or just put 10,000 rounds through it, and then it will bed in and the fps will come down a fair bit

Not trolling here but i know someone who put a 350 fps spring into a STG 44, still fired at 420... although im sure thats just a freak accident

I downgraded mine to 350 before Il Giogo pass game really simple spring cost £12 fires like a demon. not sure putting 20,000 rounds through it will bring the FPS down enough before the gear box gives up. We bought 3 STG`s and they were chronoed at around 440 fps. Safe option change the spring and it will make the gun last longer.

I think I put a PDI 140 spring into PD's, which took it down to about 330 fps.

Thanks very much Rammix for those pics, I was completely stumped as to how you could dissassemble the STG :good:

Just take your time and check everything twice, i would get one of those magnetic engineer dishes, very handy for screws etc! :)

I think I put a PDI 140 spring into PD's,

Did you do the same to mine?
I know I have a spare spring in my gun bag.

Yes, Stig. Yours had the same spring put in it as PDs. I'd forgotten I'd done yours :)

before you go out and buy a new spring, just cut a coil off your old spring and see what happens. you can easily lose 30 to 40 fps this way. i always try it first before shelling out on a new spring. i also add a small spacer behind the spring if i need to go up a little.
