Hi there,
I'm looking to build an airsoft SVT40 (planning stages) and I was wondering if anyone here has measurements or barebone detailed pictures of the SVT40's stock and hand guard. I've looked all over the internet for these measurements and even for the stock itself (which is somewhat of a rarity) but I have yet to find anything so I've decided to build one from scratch. Thanks for any assistance you can render me.

Be a nice one to build if you could pull it off :D . Post a wanted thread on WWIIReenacting forum, they are extremely helpful over there and quite often what's impossible to obtain in the UK is easily got in the country of origin. They've helped me out with Finnish weapons before .

I've got a de-ac svt40 which I'm planning to use as a template for an airsoft version, (I'll be making my own stock as well), I'll try and get some dimensions & pictures posted tonight.

Anything you have might be useful for me as well Pete. I've been meaning to ask you for a few diamentions I'm missing but haven't got round to it. I'm planning to order my parts tomorrow if all goes well and get the wood for the stock at the weekend.

Let me know if there are any specific measurements you want that you can't work out from the photo's.

Interesting. Looks like an ideal candidate for an AGM M14 project.

*Looks at spare, lonely, never-used M14 sitting in the corner of the room*

Nooooo, not another project gun!

Yup M14 it is :D definately be making my own stock, first because genuine ones are like rocking horse sh*t and secondly like genuine Garand stocks the 'wrist' of the stock is not really big enough to take the motor.

I've just ordered the last parts I need for my one from e-gunparts and will be having a look to see if I've got any suitable wood for the stock, if not I'll be taking a trip to my local timber merchant.

Perfect, just what I needed :D . I've also decided to order parts from e-gunparts and maybe even the buymilsurp site, but it seems like e-gun is missing a part or I just can't find it in the list. It's the latch that holds the front swivel band in place, right below where the cleaning rod sides into the stock. Does anyone know the part # or where I can order one?

btw Pete, could I trouble you to also post up some width and height measurements of the stock? Interested in the width generally around the trig assembly and the mag, and front of the stock. Height, from the bottom of the stock at the trig assemby to the top of the stock, and then to the top of the bolt cover. Sorry to trouble you, Thanks again!

Pete what parts did you end up ordering? I'm just wondering what you think is viable in terms of reciever components?
