hi guys, Im planing to buy a 98k for long time ago and know (tha I got the money) is time to go for it. here in venezuela is like they dont have fps limits so aeg m4, m60s etc etc are around 400fps so sniper are in disvantage I whant to upgrade my k98 so I could do more acuarsy and have more range of fire.

for doing that Im planing to put in it
+ presicion inner barrel 6.02mm
+ changing mag valvules to hight flow valvules so they release more gas in shoots

in WGC I have found an inner barrel for tanaka 98k "KM 6.04mm TN Inner Barrel for Tanaka 98K" but 6.04mm it isnt the same that the rifle brings?
and the vavules for tanaka mags I havent seen them yet I sopose they exist cuz a guy here haves a m700 tanaka and he was going to do something like that on his mags

other thing Im planning to buy the k98 from redwolf or wgc the only 2 places I see it avaible but they have out of stock extra mags and Im planing to have at least 2 of them thanks to all for the help

I'd be looking at accuracy first. Given you're from a part of the world that can be rather on the warm side, on green, you'll be getting 550 odd FPS with a 0.2 anyway.

Accuracy wise, the KM barrel does make a bit of a difference, however, if you fit the "Best Gun" nozzle and Hop-up rubber system it will make the Hop more stable as well - one of the vital things to achieve in any sniper rifle is a consistent Hop-up system. Chef on this forum has the Best Gun system fitted to his K98, and having seen it in action, i can attest to how effective it is!

BUT, Pax Armentia have just announced they are releasing a new Hop-up system for Tanaka's M700/M24 series, that should (with a bit of bodging) fit the Tanaka K98. This uses Marui style VSR barrels and Hop-up rubbers, which IMHO are about the best there is at the moment.

PDI or Tanio Koba barrel with a KM Hop-rubber should provide about the best performance you're going to get with a gas powered rifle.

Magazine wise, you can use the G&G gas route springs to ensure a tighter fit between the brass gas route on the magazine and the underside of the bolt (the tighter the fit, the less gas loss, ergo, higher FPS!)

If you really want "nutter" levels of power, then you can sometimes find upgraded hammer springs at the Hong Kong shops. Be warned though, I tuned up a gas Tanaka M24 for a mate a couple of years ago. Just fitting the hammer spring, gas route springs and a G&G powerbolt pushed the bugger up to 740 FPS on green
