Hi all, can anyone help with the following questions.
1) Are the BGS hop sets available anywhere? I know there is an old thread on this but has anyone obtained them recently and if so from where?
2) Does anyone have a scanned manual/exploded view for the Tanaka K98 they could email me?
3) I understand the fps of the tanaka can be reduced by screwing a 'whatsitmejigthingy' ( sorry to be so technical ) into the threaded brass end in the bolt. Does this reduce the FPS to below 350? and if so does anyone have a spare for sale?
Thanks in anticipation
JD7 you are an absolute star ta very much for exploded view.
I have tried contacting Sgt.Heide but no response, so if anyone knows where to get the BGS Hop Kits if there still available please let me know.
If anyone has a restictor their not using quite happy to buy it off them so I can use it for CQB's
Thanks
Tim
Someone was selling up a tanaka on here and on Zero in i believe and in that posted they had a part to change FPS, it looked like a "funnel", not sure what the part is on the diagram as i have only had a little play on the Tanaka. At a long shot guess it sort of looked like part 30 or 57(ish) Again a very rough guess.
I would love to get my hands on a BGS hop up set as well, not entirely too sure on how much longer mine will last.
Tanaka Kar 98k, AGM MP44 x2, Marushin MP40 GBB, AGM MP40, Maruzen Walther P38, WA Walther P38.
The Tanaka restrictors that screwed in - were of small medium and large size. They screwed into the bolt nozzle.
I believe the Japanese 'in country' version - to conform with their lower power laws, which came in a few years ago were fitted where part 34 goes. It restricts the amount of gas from the magazine.
When you fit the BGS Hop unit you replace the 'original' nozzle with a longer length no threaded on - which means even if you got hold of the restrictor set you can use them.
I did buy a Tanaka bolt conversion kit - which changed the old old bolt of Kar98k's/G33/40's to the newer threaded nozzle type.
I sold that conversion kit to Roy Bailey here on the forum. I don't know if he fitted it to his Kar98k.
