Just seen this report in the latest edition of Airsoft Worlds Recon-rag! I'd say this is a very reliable source and it doesn't look good!

Report on page 22/23
“I wanted to come to the Volga at a specific location at a specific city. By chance it carries the name of Stalin himself. So don’t think I marched there for this reason – it could carry another name – but because there is a very important goal... this goal I wanted to take – and you know – we are very modest, we have it already."
Adolf Hitler, November 1942
"Comrades, Red Army men, commanders and political workers, men and women guerrillas! It is on your perseverance, staunchness, fighting skill and readiness to discharge your duty to the country that the defeat of the German-fascist army and the liberation of the Soviet land from the Hitlerite invaders depend! We can and must clear the Soviet land of Hitlerite vermin."
Joseph Stalin, November 1942
Pages 7-10 are more interesting - I think this is one area AI magazine are missing out on *sarcasm*
Anyhoo, other voices are saying things will return to normal (as they have done previously, several times). I must admit I thought AW/AH dealt direct with the factories but it seems they don't - its through middle men as it seems does everyone else. Hence the elements of doubt and confusion and more questions than answers. This is the closest I've seen to anything 'official' http://szdaily.sznews.com/html/2009-09/28/content_794341.htm and it doesn't help a great deal!
"As far as we can determine" = "Anything following could be right, or it could be wildly inaccurate"
I really wouldn't worry too much. The day that China passes up an opportunity for international trade has not yet come.
I'm betting that this is down to the boss of AGM not paying off who he should have been paying off. I was in Hong Kong a few weeks ago and the airsoft shops were all trading happily.
Interesting that Airsoft World have increased the pre-order price on their AGM Stens since yesterday...
The fact that they are even still advertising them tells you something!
They received them yesterday, so they must have been shipped weeks ago.
Ah, but taking pre-orders?

there's someone over in airsofters.co.uk's forums who is claiming that some AGM staff have got 10 years in jail, and a woman may be executed.
Scary stuff.

every factory starts to reopen near Nov.1 according to them, AGM lost some moulds in the raid so they said they will need about 3 months to make new ones, A&K boss is not imprisoned wink.gif someone confuse it to the wholesaler called T&D Guntoys who also many people know can get A&K products very good, their Boss got busted (btw Airsoft World and Action Hobbies who buy together from T&D Gun toys haha they advertise outside that they are in direct contact with the factories biggrin.gif which is not true wink.gif i know it and i can prove it if someone would doubt it wink.gif ) anyways Army is ok, i just talked with them and DBoys aswell, the being watched is same like any other people in here (in China the undercover police watch everybody tongue.gif you never know who is being watched so don't take that too seriously biggrin.gif the other day i was walking in the street and there was one copper with a video camera shooting it everywhere, i just hide my face when he was on my spot haha and go other way tongue.gif this is a dictatorship still and they do as they like but they like money so many things can be solved)
i was away for couple days and all hell break loose here tongue.gif , its pretty much same situation as last years Olympics, google was blocked all this anniversary and it magically opened this Monday, all things will calm down slowly. It's just for Chinese a show of force and for local police they want to get bigger bribes (last year when Cyma got cracked Police as so high bribes that they refused to pay it and instead made new moulds) and for AGM boss, for a second i dont believe he would be "crapped" for long time, money solves everything here, you pay the right guy and things process forward, it always has and it always will its in this culture.

yep, its not looking too fun out there
To the tune of "Mademoiselle from Armentières"
Napoleons army ran away, As you do
The guard stood firm for Frances Pride, As you do
They said the guard will stand and die
But we heard what their Colonel cried
It wasn't pretty I tell you.
Resistance is fertile

Well it is a communist dictatorship, i can't imagine it's a barrel of laughs out there at the best of times.
I guess that's the chances of an MG42 gone right up shit creek.

Alas too true for dictatorships of whatever flavor of political theory the pretend to subscribe to.

This chap called Frontiers on Arnies seems to have a level-headed and informed take on unfolding events. He is in China...
I was looking through his past posts:
Inside China they cannot keep stocks in fear of being caught, so any factory they will not keep large stock for anything because like lets say i order 10 cartons, i need to wait about 10 days for them to be made(im sure they have other orders on the side aswell) and for container about 270 cartons it takes roughly 20 days to make, but still can see that all actual orders need to be made. But not for keeping stock is pretty common practise in China(no matter what business they dont keep large stock, usually make when get order) so i cannot really comment what they plan how many units to produce? i guess thats pretty much if its in demand they will make but if no get sales, those models could be dusted pretty fast.
Explaining the situation making airsoft guns:
Its very Taboo in here, you dont talk and certainly you dont carry one, its very "underground" thats why its so hard to find any manufacturer for them. And even if you find they dont want to sell to you because they are very scared so they just try to direct you to some other trading company. Trust me it ain't easy wink.gif and there is only one place in all of china where you can send out these guns besides airway in Hong Kong. Producing is very illegal and if any word of getting caught you get a life sentence which explains pretty much , how serious they are on these contacts. Even Hong Kong people are very scared these days like you can see most websites dont offer any other information than like Gmail or something as HK belongs to China now so rules could change anytime and if that does say good bye to gunners,Rsov and others there is.
Anyhoo, more up to date:
China: AGM and Cyma News
...bad news. Apparently, both AGM and Cymas owners had been arrested and factories dismantled. They are being prosecuted for illegal guns manufacture in accordance to PRC's laws. Thats it folks. That is why no new products from China lately. News confirmed, as we received almost verbatim message from three different and highly reputable sources
from airsoftnews.eu (sorry no link as i had to use proxy to go there as its blocked in china)
"if that is so, how is that possible that i talked with Cyma boss just yesterday and he was in home and ok...and certainly not arrested of any kind. And AGM boss is arrested that is true but they already are planning ahead just waiting that all clears ahead. they have so highly reputable sources that they even forgot to mention one...unnamed sources of any kind so that is highly reputable these days rolleyes.gif and why no new products from China is BECAUSE the damn holiday festivities (60th Anniversary of China) WHY all factories had to close not because couple of them got busted or raided...tell the real reasons at least if that is news or something."
"i believe i'm the original source for what happened in here at Internet about AGMs Boss got arrested and so, and i DEFINITELY have not talked with Airsoftnews of anykind, i only operate in Arnie's pretty much (sometimes with our french brothers at http://www.acm-forum.fr ) the same *suitcase* happened last year when was the olympic's here, people got raided and arrested and what happened? everything goes normal after why wouldnt it? biggrin.gif everybody is making money on the process so surely goverment officials don't mind. "
"i guess the scare start to be over this year , First factory to re-open and accept orders: Jing Gong. soon should be others to follow."
"2nd factory back in Business: A&K first shipment of Masadas just left the factory and are in the road to Hong Kong now. "
"Open and fully functional factories so far:
A&K
Jing Gong
Open but not fully operational yet:
Well
Cyma
others Status unknown (most are heading for the Nov.1 opening) "
