Always wanted a tm shotgun and when one came up recently pre cutdown figured what the heck. Unfortunatly when it arrived none of my spare air rifle or springfield 1903 stocks would fit properly so going to have to order some real wood ones some time. to survive in the mean time i've hacked off the pistol grip. filled the hole, painted the stock and pump grip white then used some ronseal stain over it to give it a half wood look. then a thin coat of varnish and voila
its not fantastic but it'll do for now. with hindsight its probably cut to short but it makes it lovely and pointable. and eventually I'll stick a heatshield on too I think to make it more authentic but otherwise what do you guys think?

If you drill lots of holes in the barrel and jimmy some sort of bayonet lug on the front and it will look 99% like a Trench gun!

If you go down the local crappy going to sell an £10 airsoft to anyone at all shop; they sell pump action bb guns with a piece which fits on top of the barrel, that looks like the top of a trenchgun.

the fake hammers for the 1897 trench gun. mines a 1912 and didnt have it
going to try and get a real heat shield if I can rather than drill the barrel as you can see from that pic it sits slightly proud. Working on getting the bayonet lug too but finding it harder to get parts than the 1903 found one place with em but its £60+ postage so it will have to wait

have a look on rsov, they do a nice mosberg with a metal heat shield,
the realy are very good shot guns and at about 15 quide they DO shoot very good, mags are small at 13bb, but nice and powerfull,

I found a combined heatshield/bayonet lug on egun parts. still about £60+ shipping but looks the bees knees
thats the one there. seems the cheapest around. not 100% sure it'd fit but im sure i could make it. the bayonet lug on the front will be the difficult bit.
if I thought I could fashion the things myself I would but dont hav the metal working setup for it alas
Looks great! i'm still working on plans for a double barrelled shotgun for a resistance loadout, but i've hit a snag on the parts side.
Once you've got that you know you'll have to carry a bandolier of shotgun shells as well haha let me know if you want a shed load of spent shells; I'm going shooting on Sunday and a specific colour if you want any!

Yea figured the heatshield could be made but the fact its attached to the bayonet lug makes that akward to sort out so figured I'd buy one. have friends in the states looking for a cheaper one at the moment

the real steel lug was and is firmly fixed to the shield by more than just 2 pins. which seems backed up by the fact i cant seem to find a lug/heatshield seperate from each other yet
OK bollogs if you come up with an idea let me know. otherwise my friends in the USA are scouring a few places for me to find me the bit a tad cheaper. that being said im not sure how viable it'll be to fit the lug onto the TM gun with it shooting 3 bbs in the triangle shape. it maybe the lug barrel hole is smaller than the tm barrel hole. which would cause the bbs to hit inside and foul things up
OK Heres a brief version of how I did this. sorry for the lack of pictures didnt think about it whilst doing it.
1. remove buttpad and screw that holds stock in.
2. remove stock.
3. remove screw that holds rubber bit of pistol grip on.
4. remove rubber bit of pistol grip.
5. using junior hacksaw remove plastic bit of pistol grip.
6. get an expoxy putty or modelling putty of some kind, use it to fill the bit where the plastic pistol grip once was. it doesnt need a ton of filling as theres still plastic to bond to. Its more for a flush looking effect.
7. once dry sand expoxy down so its flush.
8. remove handguard
9. paint both handguard pieces and stock white matt. just one coat.
10. apply a stain like one of the ronseal ones to the dry pieces. I had to apply several coats(3) to get a desired darkness but having the white underneath means less coats to apply and almost gives the illusion of grain.
11. apply a single coat of a light varnish to protect it.(have found the ronseal stain scratchs easy if not varnished)
12. re-assemble.
thats it really. you may need to add steps to shorten the gun if it comes full length. mine was pre shortened(probably a bit to short but it makes it easier to handle).

well as those of you who were at wotan on the allied side noticed. this died after 10 mins of use at wotan heh.
i've just stripped it and all it was, was the tranfer bars had slipped out of alignment and thus stopped the bb feed mech from moving right.
its now fine and shooting like a canon! be warned germans at dday bwahaha
