surely the geneva convention prevented allied troops from using shotguns in europe! they were used against the japs as they had not signed up!
I have a lovely little ithica sawn off made by ktw (i think) got it from wgc shop prior to the vcr bill and for a £70 springer it is the dogs danglies.
it has a 46 round cassette mag down the mag tube and a fixed hop up, there is a fire selector on the cocking tube- single shot at 310 fps!, double shot (one after another) at 240 fps and if you hold down the button at the front of the trigger guard you can pump and chamber as many rounds as you like!- lessens the range somewhat but has the effect for throwing a pint pot full of bb's at your opponent!
I may bring her to sort out some germans on Dday!

officially yes it did prevent them. However I've found several photos showing both british and US troops carrying them in europe when guarding bases etc and prisoners of war.
From other accounts I've read occasionally troops "liberated" one of these from the guards or were assigned one to "clear obsticles" in doorways etc. So it seems they were used although rarely. The main accounts of them being used in combat I found was during the battle for the bulge.
Other bits I've found seems to suggest they were sometimes dropped to resistence or taken in with OSS drops etc.
So yes technically they werent supposed to be used but rarely they were. I'm curious as to whether the same happened with brit commandos as they were a bit of a law unto themselves when it came to weapons. Need to read into it more
Hey, I have no moral issues when it comes to clearing obstacles with my shotgun, if a kraut happens to be sat behind the obstacle then I guess it's tough luck!

I saw the tanaka version yesterday. thinking I may have a bash at making the heat shield and lug after seeing the tanaka one. going to need to cut down the pump grip to make it fit i think
converted an M3 into a trench gun for pikey today and I have to say a big thankyou for showing that it can de done well! He is as happy as a dog with two d**ks at the moment and I'll post some photos of my conversion after our wild west themed game this saturday evening.

glad he likes it. I've had mine in pieces recently and think that if some plastic was cut off the top of the pump grip it might look even better so may do that this weekend. Found a place in the states with heat shields for $25 but ccant find the one with the lug for any less than £50+ postage
can easily make my own heat shield but I want the lug too heh
