Hey im over 18 but i dont play skirmishes so i cant get a ukara licence, if i was to buy a kar98 off rsov would it be confiscated?
without a UKARA number they would probably not sell to you.
you could always become a member of a site, got to the required amount of skirmish games to qualify and get your UKARA that way, you may enjoy the skirmish side of the game
"Will you stop talking about the war!!"
"What, you started it!"
"We did NOT start it!"
"Yes you did, you invaded Poland..."

Quite simply you are breaking the law if you do not have a legitimate defence. Therefore you would be bonkers to attempt an import and suffer HMCR's enquires and police involvement, regardless of whether RSOV were happy to sell it to you.
so all in all theres no way..... damn im gonna kill the guy who invented that stupid law!
EDIT: Can anyone tell me where i can get a kar98 with a custom paint job.
lol its not really stupid...Yes its annoying. but it helps us to carry on playing airsoft. A seperates us from the idiots that rob banks with airsoft guns. We have a legitimate reason and defense if the authorities question our ownership of a RIF.
There is a way... start airsofting and get your ukara registration.
Well i mainly need the kar98 for a project (film)
Explain a bit more? What type of project?
If you don't need it for airsofting you could buy a deactivated K98 as they're not covered by the VCRA
Also karbiner k98's post it not technically correct, certain airsoft sellers will two tone any gun for you, Airsoft world and wolf armouries wil do it, of course it will cost. Now the legal aspect, you can buy a two tone gun but if you re spray it, to look like a real gun, you commit the offence of manufacturing a realistic fire arm. UKARA (yawn) is one method of buying, but there are other methods of proving entitlement to buy. These include being a member of a skirmishing site, tends to go hand in hand with UKARA membership, film and theatre use, with this being able to prove that you are putting on a bone fide production and not just pissing about on you tube, a museum or have a warrant from the queen as part of the execution of your duty (police, military ect)

Ah sadly, yes they are, its weapons of a certain age, pre 1900 and to be honest thats not the correct date, as I can't remember it off the top of my head. The 1898 version I believe would be exempt, but the law tends to be for muskets and flintlocks, as opposed to "modernesque" weapons.
If you want chapter and verse heres the CPS Firearms website
http://www.cps.gov.uk/legal/d_to_g/firearms/
The VCRA concerns itself with things that look like guns, not guns themselves, so yes there is no problem with you buying a deactivated K98 as a film prop - cheaper than an airsoft version too!
Obviously a two-tone K98 (were there such a thing!) will be of no use for a film and as has been pointed out, you can't legally make it look like a real gun anyway.
If you want it for skirmishing as well, then Yith's suggestion is the one to follow.

Well, you know I didn't know that, about the de acts.

So much for that copper on the TV ad saying "we're the police, we know everything"
Yeah right,
If you want a Prop gun for film use look in Kemps, or the Knowledge or do a Google search for Armourers or find your local Prophire company and they will find you one it will cost and if you want blank firing it will come with an Armourer. Failing that approuch your local re-enactment group and find a re-enactor willing to bring out his/her pride and joy for the shoot ... Even if you are on private land or using a "Rubber" let the local police know , it could save embarasment and delays to your shoot.
